Veronica's POV:
I've just put on my black funeral dress in preparation for Frank's funeral. Having finished touching up my makeup, I give myself one last glance in the mirror and head towards the triplets' room. Opening the door, I find them all fast asleep. I softly smile and blow them a kiss.
Me: *telepathically* "Be good for Daddy, and I'll see you when I get back. I love you."
With that, I quietly close the door and walk out to the kitchen to find Riddler holding a travel mug of coffee.
Me: *sighs* "You're the best, babe."
Riddler: "Anything for my lovely wife."
Riddler hands me the coffee and places a hand on my shoulder.
Riddler: "Give the girls my condolences."
Me: *nods* "I will. Love you."
Riddler: *kisses me* "Love you more."
With that, I head out to the car and drive to Frank's funeral.
{Time skip}
When I arrive, having finished my coffee and left the mug in the car's cupholder, I approach the girls. Harley hugs me with a grateful smile before Ivy does the same, her grip slightly tighter than Harley's due to her grief.
Ivy: *hugs me* "Thanks for coming."
Me: "Of course. I know you'd both do the same for me if it were Riddler or--You know."
Ivy: *nods* "Of course."
I sit to Harley's right as she consolingly leans on Ivy's shoulder, and King Shark arrives.
King Shark: "Excuse me, I'm just coming through."
King Shark sits to Bane's right.
King Shark: "I'm sorry I'm late. Shaun ran away again!"
Flower: "Shh!"
King Shark: "Oh, I'm sorry. Peace be with you. Oh, my God. It's hard to believe it's real."
Bane: "Mmm. I have seen a lot of death in my time and caused much of it, but this hurts."
Harley: "So, um-*clears throat*-Ives, I think it's that time. Ives?"
Ivy is unresponsive as she silently cries.
Me: "Harls, why don't you start?"
Harley: "Ok, don't worry. I got this."
Harley moves to stand behind the podium, and I sit in her previous seat so Ivy has a hand to hold or a shoulder to lean on until Harley returns to her seat.
Harley: *clears throat* "So, you know, I'm never really at a loss for words. You know who always had something to say? Frank! He was super funny when you didn't wanna kill him. Anyways, Frank pretty much always had the last word, and today is no exception."
Harley holds up a remote and presses a button to play a video Frank left behind on the TV beside her.
Frank: *onscreen* "Hello from down below!-*chuckles*-I guess I'm technically not down below yet, but if you're watching this, I'm dancing with the devil."
I return to my original seat as Harley walks over to us and sits in hers.
Frank: *onscreen* "And let me tell you something, this motherfucker got 2 left feet.-*chuckles*-Did that get a laugh?-*King Shark coughs*-My guess is not, 'cause it would make people feel too awkward, you know? Should have led with a dick joke. Dick jokes always work."
