The longest season of our lives is finally coming to an end. It's July 26th. We're playing our last league match today, at Goodison Park, against Bournemouth.

We are currently in 6th place in the league ranking. The 5th and 6th teams are the ones that play Europa League next season.

The only problem we might have is that Tottenham Hotspur is in 7th place, but we're tied in points. Luckily, the golaverage is in our favor, so, if we win today, we'll be a Europa League team next season, no matter what Tottenham does in their match today.

However, if they win and we don't, or we lose and they don't, the dream would be over.

A dream I've secretly had for the whole season, and only has spread through the rest of the club when they started seeing a real chance.

This chance was unimaginable a year ago, at the beginning of the season.

Because of this, the environment this week has been electric in the club. Everyone is excited, expectant, since it would be an historic achievement for us after all these years. Everton F.C. hasn't played an international tournament since the 2013 Champions League, back when Niall was the star player.

Speaking of Niall, him and I have been restless all day. The whole week I'd say. An achievement like this would not only be great for the club, but also for our own professional careers, so we're also hopeful about that.

Our match is at 6:30pm. All of the teams are playing at the same time today, so Tottenham is as well.

Niall and I were already dressed by 5pm, our nervousness getting the best of us. I'm wearing a navy blue suit with thin white vertical stripes on it, and white heels. I've never worn this one before, so hopefully it gives us some luck, who knows.

I put my hair up in a ponytail, and then walked downstairs, where Niall already was, wearing a grey suit with a white buttoned shirt and a grey tie underneath.

"That one 's new." He smiled when he saw me and noticed the suit I was wearing.

"Oh, yeah." I smiled back, looking down at my clothes for a moment and then back at him. "Hopefully it gives us luck."

"Well, we've never lost with you wearing that suit, have we?" He joked, laughing to himself, making me laugh as well.

Shortly after, we got in Niall's car and he drove us to the stadium. The atmosphere was already hectic right outside it, with thousands of fans dressed in blue, wearing their masks chanting and sharing their excitement about the match.

Because yeah, fans have been allowed back in open stadiums since a couple of weeks ago, as long as they follow the security measures they're told to, and get a covid test done right before entering the stadium, being allowed to get in if it comes out negative.

Niall parked at the inside garage reserved for club workers and players, as it's the best option, and walking out of the car and inside the stadium in front of thousands of fans wouldn't be the smartest decision right now anyway.

With the end of the season going on right now, the comments about us on social media have lessened a bit, so we obviously don't want to fire them up again.

At 5:40pm, we were already at the VIP area, chatting with Bill, among other Everton and also Bournemouth directives.

That reminded me that it is also Mr Kenwright's last match as Everton's president, so hopefully it is a good one for that reason as well. We have organized a surprise tribute for him at the end of the match anyway, that we're pretty sure he's not aware of, even if he might expect something to happen.
