June 16th, 2020.
It's Tuesday today. However, as we've passed many weeks without playing league matches because of the lockdown, there has been matches on days out of the weekend. Days like today.
At 6:30pm, we have a league match at Goodison Park, against Aston Villa. It's important to win if we want to stay in the fight for the Europa League places in the league ranking.
Niall has woken up in an extra good mood today. When I asked him why, he just said that he's happy to be with me at his house, and is excited for the match this afternoon.
He, around half an hour ago, left to buy water and coffee, or so he said. He insisted that I didn't have to come with him, that he could handle those two things. However, he's taking longer than usual, since the supermarket is just a few minutes away from here, so it doesn't take this long to go. But I've chosen to believe there's just more people there today, for some reason.
While Niall's been away, I've been doing some of the necessary stuff for today's match, that I can do from the laptop.
15 minutes later, he arrived back home. And he was in fact carrying the supermarket bags in his hands.
"I thought you had gotten lost in the supermarket at this point." I told him, with a little smile on my face, when he approached me.
"Nah." He denied. After closing the door and taking his mask off, he walked until he was right behind me, and gave me a kiss on the lips, wrapping an arm around me. "The amount of people there was just insufferable today."
"I see." I said, wanting to believe him. "So just water and coffee."
"Yep." He nodded. "That, by the way, I'm going to leave in the kitchen." He said, and picked the bags back up.
"I'll help you." I said, and we both went to the kitchen.
Once we were there, we started leaving everything in place, while we talked. It was obviously a lot quicker to do that together than if it was one of us alone.
"Winning today is very important." He pointed out, while we arranged the water bottles.
"I know, yeah." I replied.
"I've been praying that we win the whole way home." He admitted.
"Yeah?" I looked at him, raising my eyebrows slightly at that affirmation. Winning is important, but it's been the same in every match. And I've never seen praying that we win before. "Is it extra important for you today?" I asked.
"You have no idea." He chuckled softly. "By the way, choose a thin shirt to wear under the blazer, the weather is hotter today." He changed the subject.
"Okay. Will do." I said, and chose to not think about the sudden change of topic.

At around 5pm, we started getting ready for the match.
