Niall Horan

After greeting her mom, her dad heard us and came downstairs. He hugged Vic, and then shook my hand with a smile on his face, while he said "nice to finally meet you, son", speaking in English for now, which I appreciated, since my Spanish is far from perfect right now.

"Hola, the pleasure is mine." I replied, wanting to test my Spanish a bit anyway.

Her dad smiled and patted my back, appreciating my effort to speak some Spanish, I think.

I'm still a bit nervous, and I believe everyone can tell, but the warm welcome by her parents has eased those nerves slightly. They seem like good people, just like their daughter.

However, Vic wanted to make sure anyway, so she took my hand and started walking, with the excuse of showing me around the house, while her parents stayed downstairs, probably talking about us as well.

"You good?" She asked when we reached her bedroom, both of us walking inside.

"Yeah, yeah, thank you, Vic. They seem very nice." I said honestly.

"Good." She replied, clearly relieved.

"This is your childhood room, then?" I asked, looking around. It seemed like her, this room.

I love seeing more parts of her life.

"Yeah, this is it, the way I left it last time." She informed me.

"The Real Madrid poster isn't going away, I see." I chuckled softly, while looking at the poster on her wall.

"Nah, never. But don't tell Bill." She smiled back, making me laugh.

Of course the love for your childhood club doesn't go away just because you're working in another one.

A bit later, we walked back downstairs, to get to know her parents and have lunch with them. I felt more and more comfortable as time passed.

I guess it runs in the family, wanting people around them to feel like they're at home.

The four of us eventually sat at the table, Victoria and I next to each other, in front of both her parents.

"So you've been together for how long now?" Sofia asked, while serving the food on our plates and being thanked by each of us as she did so.

"Officially, for almost two months." Victoria replied.

"Not bad. It's a start." George said.

"And how was Tenerife? Did you guys have a good time?" Sofia then asks.

"It was great, right?" Victoria said, looking at me, wanting to include me in the conversation, which I appreciated.

"Yeah, we had an amazing time." I replied honestly.

Just like that, conversation flowed easily during the whole meal. I felt comfortable the whole time.

Some time after lunch, we were having some coffee in the living room, when Sofia said something about wanting to show Victoria some new clothes she had bought, so both girls left upstairs. I assumed they wanted to have some girl talk as well.

So that left me alone with George, each of us sitting on one of the two couches at the sides of the coffee table.

"Son, can I ask you something?" George suddenly asked me.

"Sure." I nodded, taking a sip of my coffee while listening to him.

"Vi would probably tell me to not ask this, but I'm curious, because I think we have something in common, apart from our taste in women." He smiled, making me chuckle slightly.
