fallen fruit

you,
a friendly gesture,
a funny face
I'd recognize in every crowd.
I,
a few hundred meters further away
yet you get me
the letters I speak,
fallen fruit from my tongue to yours,
of which you make sentences out of
and combine all the words I fail to connect.

no metric system could measure us,
the wire we spun upon mountain tops and through rivers
that links my soul to yours.
every scale, as balanced as can be,
is of no avail
when it comes to us;
we are more, larger than we thought,
we are not contained in a simple verse
we cannot be expressed in words,
words are a mere shadow from the mind.
what we are is out of reach for the thinking,
our essence stems from our very soul.

contrary to last poem, a little text about what love could actually be/feel like...
or at least an attempt, 'cause who am I to judge :))
this poem somehow came together naturally in a matter of a few minutes - I can't explain any further even to myself, I had no one and nothing in mind at all for this one...
hope you liked how it turned out, thank you for reading. <3
