too far from sunflowers / between rain & teargas

I'm as far from sunflowers as one can be,
but there's one, uncommon little flower
blooming through the cold cement -
crowded abandoned warehouse,
once filled with music
now replaced by sirens and shouting -
and I only wanted to live,
but it looks like something's always gotta give.

between rain and teargas I try to recognize
something,
people or faces, I don't know
I wanna go, I wanna go -
but the blue cars won't let us.
no signal or no phone
must find a way out
and all my friends are still somewhere in the crowd,
the one I can't make any more sense out of,
where I lost them.

a hole in the fence,
I have to flee -
away, away, to the cold streets.
no water or food, only dust in my mouth,
I'm out in the desert, 10 miles away from my house.
no bus, no train,
hitchhike back home
where I can't seem to reach a single soul -
and I used to be in company,

but now I'm all alone.

heyyy, hello <3 it's been a while...
I hope you liked these two new (but old) poems I wrote in november. I actually have a loooot to publish, I hope to get to edit more of it soon.

annotation: "the blue cars" stands for police cars -
I wrote this one fictionally, vaguely inspired by a friend's story - had so much fun rhyming again.

let me know what you think in the comments below and thank you so much for reading!!
