Darasimi's POV

I stared at myself in the mirror for the last time, straightening the imaginary ruffles on my shirt. I yawned as I assessed my dress.

I was wearing a black body con top tucked into blue boyfriend jeans. I held onto my brown blazer as told by Yemi since in his words, where we were going was going to be cold. I styled my hair into a low tight bun and went to put on my black sneakers. As I tied the knot of the last shoelace, a knock came in.

I quickly went to apply a little lip-gloss, removed my phone from its charger, and grabbed my small purse and backpack, which contained a change of clothes for the next day.

Yemi had not given much to go on. He was only said to be ready by 8 am, with a change of clothes packed, and not having breakfast. Once I had taken everything, I went to open the door to reveal a casually dressed Yemi. He was wearing a simple black sweatshirt and white jeans paired with white sneakers. I smiled when his gaze met mine and told him to come in.

"Good morning, babe. Are you ready?" he said sweetly before pecking my forehead like he always did.

"As you can see, she is always on time," Praise cut in before I could say anything, and I grimaced at her before rolling my eyes.

"When did you wake up?" I asked with a raised brow. The house had been dead silent since I woke up, and I didn't want to disturb them. They already knew I would be leaving early.

"Just now. Good morning, Mr. Adeyemi," Praise replied before smiling at my boyfriend.

"Good morning, Miss Praise. Can I take her now?" The names were out of my jurisdiction, as both of them had settled on calling each other by a title.

"Ah, of course. Abeg, just take her and go. Have fun o and let me sleep." I was all but pushed out the door with Yemi in front of me.

I chuckled when we were locked out of the house, but moved to hug the man before me.

"Good morning to you, too, babe," I said before pecking his cheek.

He smiled widely and held my hand before pulling me to the car. He opened the back door for me, and I slipped in only to come face to face with Anthony, who was peeking through the mirror.

"Good morning, ma'am," he greeted me with a small smile, making me smile back.

"Good morning, Anthony. How are you?" I asked just as Yemi entered the car.

"I am very well, thank you," was all he said before starting the car, and then, he gave us a last look and drove off.

"So, your best idea was to take me out a day after I had just finished my exam, early in the morning, might I add, to a place you still haven't told me," I stated while looking at him with a brow raised. I watched the corner of his lips curl into a smirk before he stared at me and shook his head.

"It won't be a surprise if I told you where we are going and it needed to be early because we have a long way ahead before reaching our destination," he reasoned and winked at me while I just rolled my eyes and placed my jacket on my lap since my back bag was kept in the booth.

"But I'm hungry," I whined, making him chuckle.

"I expected that, but it's covered. I can't leave my foodie girlfriend starving now, can I?" he said all this with a smirk while I just smiled and bobbed my head up and down in approval.

Well, at least there would be food.

I had finished my last exam for law school and I was so glad to have that done with. The results would be uploaded within a month and certificates would be handed out within the space of two months. I just needed to be patient and have faith in my results for a few more weeks and then, I would be free.
