"Hey, Dara, stop dozing off." I snapped my head off the table and sighed.
I couldn't help it; I was tired. Yemi had dropped me off yesterday evening, and when I was about to just go and crash on my bed, Grace started acting up. I stayed up till twelve am, listening to Grace, having a talk with mom and dad, helping to cook dinner, and finally, emailing some of the work we had to do today.
"I want to sleep," I whined and pouted, making everyone laugh.
It was still two hours before the break, and we had done a presentation on some more cases. We were now assigned to individual cases, and as much as I wanted to finish this as soon as possible, I wanted to sleep.
"Rough night?" Gabriel asked since he was the one by my side, and I just placed my head in my hand.
"More like stressful, a couple of days," I said before closing my eyes again for just a few minutes.
The sound of the door opening and closing with a loud bang made me snap my eyes open. I looked for what made the sound, only to see Mr. Tolu barging inside with a deep scowl on his face.
I wonder what made him angry. He simply walked quickly to his desk and started typing fast. He looked up and caught me staring. I snapped my head to my desk.
I wonder why my neck hasn't broken yet.
Trying my best to go back to the case I was studying before my dizzy spells came on, I sighed because I knew I couldn't concentrate. My phone pinged, indicating I had a message.
"I miss you," Yemi
A smile graced my lips immediately, and my sleep was forgotten. I quickly started typing back.
'Aren't you busy?' Dara x
I sent the message and dropped the phone. I have been in a daze ever since I agreed to be his girlfriend yesterday.
Did I do the right thing? Of course, I did, and I did not regret it. Now, the only thing to do was learn how to be a girlfriend because, if you recall, I suddenly skipped all the stages into the matrimonial home.
Is there a book that could teach me that? Or maybe a manual?
My phone pinged, indicating I had a message. I picked it up excitedly.
"Kind of, but never too busy for you." Yemi
I could practically feel my blush coming on. Was this how everyone felt giddy about their crush-turned-boyfriend?
"A smooth talker. How are things at the office?" Dara
I really didn't know how this relationship worked, and to be honest, I was cautious. I couldn't make the same mistakes twice.
'You bring out this side of me, and to be honest, it intrigues me. Everything is fine here, but I miss you,' Yemi.
I missed him too. Even before we became official, I would wait for his message because I was too much of a geek to send one first, except for the time we first met.
"I'm sure you've had this side for all the girls," Dara
What did I just say? I stilled my breath. What was wrong with me? I couldn't lose my reasoning all because of a guy.
"Lol, don't be jealous, babe; I only have eyes for you." Yemi
I rolled my eyes at the text.
"Me, jealous? Haa. Never. When do you have lunch?' Dara
I tried to change the topic.
'Sure, you aren't. Lunch is not for another hour. How about we go out during your lunch break?' Yemi
