Waking up in a very comfortable bed was like a dream come true. It was like I was sleeping on a water bed, and the curtains that stopped the sun from coming in were making me want to go back to sleep. However, my alarm had other plans, and just as it blared, I groaned, shut it off, and shifted my weight till I was sleeping on my back.

My eyes fluttered open, first noticing the plain white ceiling holding the brown fan and the dimly lit golden chandelier. My hand shot to my mouth as I let out an unladylike yawn and groggily sat upright with my back against the wooden headboard. The second thing I noticed was the plain gray curtains that glistened due to the rays of sunlight, making them look light green.

Two doors stood proudly beside each other with a wall between them. The first one had double doors made of dark Acacia wood, which I assumed was the walk-in closet, and the second one was just a single door made of the same wood. At the foot of the bed stood two white chairs facing each other and a single glass table. If I were speaking honestly, the room screamed 'expensive'.

I shifted a bit, took my phone that sat on the nightstand, and opened my Bible app. I was having my devotion when a knock came in on my wooden door.

"Babe, are you up?" Adeyemi's voice sounded normal, like he had woken up longer than I.

"Yeah, just praying. Good morning," I replied, licking my lips before checking my phone for the time. To my surprise, it was past nine.

"Oh my God, it's past nine," I exclaimed, earning a chuckle from Yemi. This was not how I pictured waking up at my boyfriend's parents' house.

"Good morning to you, too, Love. We are about to have breakfast," he started to say, but I cut him off.

"I'll be right down. Just give me ten minutes," I shouted and scrambled out of bed and into the bathroom.

"Alright then," I heard Yemi say before his footsteps drowned.

I had no time to take in the beautiful decor of the bathroom, instead, I grabbed my toothbrush and brushed my teeth quickly before taking a quick shower with the lavender soap Yemi had left for me.

Stepping out of the bathroom, I rushed to the closet where I had dumped my bag and picked out a simple black jeans and a navy blue shirt. I packed my hair backward and didn't wait to check my appearance before dashing out of the room with my phone in hand.

I was panting by the time I got downstairs, where Yemi had been waiting. Licking my dry lips, I stepped beside him and rubbed my sweaty palm on my shirt.

"You're nervous?" My gaze snapped to Yemi to see his brow raised in curiosity.

"Kind of. It's my first day here, and I'm already blowing it by waking up late. Not sure how that is a sign of a good girlfriend," I explained with light sass in my tone before sighing.

"You look cute when you're flustered," he replied, making me roll my eyes at his lack of attention. He chuckled and held both my shoulders, so I looked at him.

"You didn't make a mistake. I'm pretty sure my mum wanted you to sleep in," he said, shrugging his shoulders. I nodded even though his words did fifty percent of reassuring me and he grabbed my hand pulling me towards the dining room we had eaten at last night.

"Oh, the couple finally decided to join us, eh?" Mr. Coker said as soon as we walked in, making me hide myself behind Yemi. I heard a female chuckle just as Yemi decided to move, so I was now visible to everyone.

"I'm sorry, I overslept and I never oversleep," I replied in a small voice but they all just stared at me in amusement.

"Oh, don't worry about that, dear, he was just teasing you. C'mon, breakfast is served, let's eat before it gets cold," Mrs. Coker said, saving me from my pit of nervousness. I smiled at her warmth and walked over to the seat Yemi pulled out for me.

I greeted everyone again including Lola who looked like she just scrambled out of bed without checking a mirror. Her short hair was sticking out in different places, and her clothes which consisted of a white and pink shirt and pink poker-dot trousers looked rumpled and since one of her legs was on the chair beside her, she looked like the total opposite of me.

"Lola, put your leg down and eat like a lady," Her mum said sternly, causing Lola to pout but comply.

"I didn't know what you liked, but we had the cooks make a little bit of everything, so I hope you like it," Mrs. Coker said again lightly as she shifted her gaze to me.

I turned from her to the food on the table, and my eyes widened as my plate had an overflowing amount of a full English meal. Damn, even the one Yemi fed me on the plane wasn't this much. Well, at least the bacon was much. I smiled at his mum and dug into the delicious pancake.

"So, Dara, I made plans for us for the entire day. I want to get to know my soon-to-be daughter-in-law, and Lola will be coming too," Mrs. Coker said, making me nearly choke at the second bite of my food. I snapped my gaze from her to Yemi, but watched with wide eyes as he only wiggled his brows and smiled at me before continuing to eat.

"Don't look at him like that, I honestly don't know what's taking him so long to propose," It was Mr. Coker who said this causing Yemi to spit back his coffee before glaring at his dad.

"Dad?"

"What? Do you think I wanna wait till I age another year before you get married? If you don't propose to her soon, I'll buy the ring myself and push you on your knees if I have to," Okay, that was a little funny but too much and I was glad Lola started laughing at Yemi's shocked face before turning to me.

"Can I be in charge of desserts at your wedding?" she asked with all seriousness, making me speechless.

"Don't scare her away, darling, and no, Lola, we have people for that, but you can supervise," Mrs. Coker said, shutting down her husband. A proposal? A wedding?

"Don't worry, you'll get used to it." I jumped a bit at Yemi's nearness but stared at him with hesitation.

Will I?

"At least until we get married and then start hounding us for a baby." Those words made me choke on my bacon.

Yemi just laughed as he rubbed my back while the entire family kept planning my wedding. He hasn't even proposed.
