What he said jolted my memory.

Flashback

I was stirred awake by my 6 a.m. alarm and groaned, remembering that I had to go to the foundation. It had been three days since I started, and I loved it because, as much as it was challenging, I was adapting. I was no longer as scared of men as I used to be, and it was because I had grown so comfortable around Adeyemi and the way he encouraged me to go out and be myself.

Thinking about him was something I did more often than usual, and it just calms but confuses me as to how much he has affected me as a friend, a guy, and a helper.

My subconscious said, "He is something more," and I suddenly felt the need to read the Bible.

I have noticed that whenever God wanted to tell me something, it would be through the Bible, because according to him and what Pastor Ayobami said, it is a sure and accurate way to know what God is saying.

Taking out my Bible from the table beside my bed, I sang a few worship songs before the scripture 1 Chronicles 22:9–10 entered my heart, and I began reading.

It read: 'Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of peace, and I will give him peace and quietness from his enemies all around.' His name shall be called Solomon, for I will give him peace all the days of his life. He is the one who will build a house in my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. I will establish his throne over the kingdom forever.

My brows creased in confusion. I didn't understand this at all, but I couldn't help the nagging feeling that this had to do with me and Yemi.

"Your king is here," my heart whispered.

End of flashback

I blinked my eyes at the words I just heard, both in my heart and from his mouth. Was this really how it felt when you knew you had a deeper connection to someone and you just couldn't describe it?

"My king has come," I whispered to myself.

Was this a joke? What does this mean?

I know Yemi has helped me in every way possible, and I always knew that even a friend can't always do what he did. But he had shown himself to be a very great friend, and now my heart says it's more than that. How do I even begin to explain my thoughts to him? Wouldn't he freak out? My gosh, even I was freaking out.

"Are you okay? You're shaking a little." I snapped my head back to focus on Yemi, and I just couldn't get over the fact that a man this handsome was here with me.

Yemi was a lot of things. He had an aura of dominance around him; he was influential and all, but he was a calm and peaceful person. A true believer, and wait a minute.

"Yemi, what is your third name or English name?" I asked out of the blue, just trying to confirm something. He looked at me weirdly before smirking and bobbing out his chest so he could feel big.

"Well, it's Jedidiah. Why do you ask?" He said it with a huff of pride. Jedidiah, where do I know that name?

"Have you ever asked why they called you that?" I asked. I knew I was being so direct, but Jedidiah was a powerful name and the name of...

"Yeah, my mom usually brags about the name. She says she knew she was supposed to call me that immediately after I was born, but she didn't want to call me Solomon because she feared Nigerian people would turn it into Solo." My breath hitched.

Have you ever felt the feeling of Déjà vu?

That was the moment. This cannot be a coincidence. Solomon was also called Jedidiah.
