Evangeline made sure to keep her distance from Draco, despite Voldemort's orders. It was mostly just them talking to one another as little as possible. It was dreadful for them both, but they managed. They both felt so lonely, and they didn't know how much longer they could manage without being close again.

It was a lot easier to be a part from each other at school, because there are times where they have to be separated.

Eva sat on the usual leather couch in the Slytherin common room. Draco enters the common room, spotting her surrounded by a couple books. He approaches her, but keeps a noticeable distance, "Don't stay up too late studying, the Dark Lord expects you to rest properly."

Eva doesn't even look up to acknowledge him, "I know." She says blankly.

A flash of irritation crosses his face at her cold response, "You know, you're making things harder than they need to be."

She looks up slowly, confused. "What are you talking about?"

"You're pretending like I don't exist."

"I thought this was what you wanted. Distance."

He takes a seat next to her, "I need you, Eva. I can't just...not talk to you."
