Opposite Ends (Draco Malfoy)

The day after the Yule Ball. Students were going back home to their families to celebrate new years, but Evangeline had no where to go. So, she was going to stay at Hogwarts, like her brother.

Mattheo was packing, and Eva wondered why, but she chose not to ask him where he'd be going. He didn't have parents that were...present. It was widely known he was an orphan.

Mattheo had left the dorm room to join all the other students going back to their families, but Draco stayed in the room with her.

Eva faced Malfoy, "Are you not going back home?"

"No. Not this time." He replied blankly.

"How come?"

Draco ignored her.

"Okay then. Ignore me." She said sassily.

Draco said nothing. It pissed Evangeline off when people would ignore her. So, she stood up and stormed out of the dorm room.

Draco was taken aback at her sudden exit, but

she can't know yet.

Evangeline was still in Draco's clothes, but she was so hungry that she was nauseous, so she carelessly made her way to the Great Hall for breakfast.

She sat down at the long table by herself, not many students were here.

Harry spotted her from the Gryffindor table, immediately leapt up and made his way to her. "Eve."

She looked up, anger infiltrating her mind, "What the bloody hell do you want?"

"I need to talk to you."

"The last thing I want to do is talk to you. So, piss off." She aggressively took a bite of her scrambled eggs.

"It's important." He sat down in front of her.

"Is it? Is it really? Like it was important to tell Cedric right before the Yule Ball that I smoke? You couldn't have waited?! But for some reason you wait to tell Dumbledore that I'm alive?"

"Eva listen-"

"Why should I?"

"Draco Malfoy isn't who you think he is."

"You weren't."

"He's a death eater Eva!" He whisper-yelled.

Eva was taken aback. "No." She couldn't believe it, "No he isn't. If he was, I would know."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah." She stood up angrily, "Thanks for ruining my breakfast too, asshole." She was about to storm off, but Harry chased her into the corridor and grabbed her wrist tightly.

She immediately got out of his grip and she shoved him, "Don't touch me!"

"Who's clothes are you wearing?" He changed the subject in realization.

Draco saw Harry grab her wrist so he walked quickly to get to the scene. "You need to back off, Potter." He stood in front of Eva, directly facing Harry and only slightly towering over him.

"You need to back off, Malfoy." Harry treated his name as if it were a slur, "She's my sister."

"It doesn't mean you own her." The blonde defended, "I don't want to see you putting your hands on her again."

Harry looked at the outfit Eva was wearing and then at Malfoy. He scrunched his face up in disgust and looked back at Eva with disappointment.

If only she understood.
