Opposite Ends (Draco Malfoy)

Ouch.

What he said angered her a bit. "You're like convinced I'm gonna die or something?"

"Eva-" He didn't know what was gonna happen. He wasn't confident about anything. Deep down, he doesn't want the Dark Lord to take over, but he doesn't want to risk getting close to Eva, just to loose her. How can they be friends, yet be on opposite sides? She may not like her brother, but that doesn't change the fact the Dark Lord wants her dead.

"Look, I know you're scared, but you-"

He quickly got offended. "Shut up."

"Excuse me?"

"You think I'm scared?"

"You clearly are." She spat, "There's nothing wrong with it."

Draco furrowed his brows at her.

"I am too." She admitted, "I had no idea that coming to Hogwarts would be this dangerous."

"The Dark Lord thought you were dead, but he knows you're alive now. Ever since Rita Skeeter published that article about you. Everybody thought you were dead."

"There has to be a way to defeat him.."

"He never actually died, Eva. He avoided death. He was weakened, but is now a being again. I don't think it's possible to destroy him. He's...too powerful."

"He never died..." Eva just remembered the page of the book she read, "Do you think he could be immortal?"

"Maybe...but I don't know how that's possible."

Eva grabbed the book she previously knocked over and opened it to its table of contents. She found the page of information on Horcruxes and read it to Draco.

He was puzzled. "I don't know...this is probably a stretch."

Eva sighs. "You may be right." A tear falls down her cheek as she slides the book back into place. It wasn't noticeable. She was scared. "I'll see you around, Draco."

"Alright."

When Eva returned to her dorm at 2am, she was exhausted, but she couldn't sleep. She tried, desperately, but it was like her mind wouldn't shut off. She was tossing and turning throughout the whole night until the dorm room's alarm rang at 6am. Eva sat up, giving up.
