So much for a Happy Christmas. Eva thought she knew Draco, but here she was, getting to know and like someone who ended up thinking so lowly of her. How could she be so dumb?
She's trapped here at Malfoy Manor, with no knowledge of her brother's whereabouts, and no means of helping him. She felt stupid and useless.
Draco sat there on the edge of his bed for a while, thinking about what just happened.
"You pure-blood supremacists disgust me."
She's disgusted by him. Maybe it's better this way. She wants to die to save the world anyway. It's not like she were actually meant to be his.
Draco decided to spend his time getting ready for the holiday. Eva exited the bathroom after a long while, not even bothering to look at him. Her eyes and nose were red and puffy.
She started making her bed, before any of the house elves could. She didn't like it when they cleaned up after her.
Draco studied her, taking note of the fact she had been crying.
In the corner of her eye, she noticed that he were observing her. She flipped around to face him, throwing a pillow onto her bed out of irritation, "Can I help you, Malfoy?"
"I'm sorry, Eva."
She rolled her eyes at him and continued to make her bed.
He stopped watching her for a moment, "I have some things to do." He rose to his feet and made his way to the door. "Don't leave this room."
"I know the rules." She retorted.
"Do you?" He snapped, "You were wondering the manor last night."
She shot him a nasty look to which he responded with an eye roll. He opened the door, "Happy Christmas, Eva." He took something small out of his pocket and threw it onto her bed. He then exited the room, shutting the door behind him.
Eva picked up the small item he threw and saw it were a present wrapped in shiny green wrapping paper with a satin green bow on top. There was a tag with writing in ink that said,
"To: Eva
From: D.M."
It made her smile a bit, but that smile quickly disappeared when she reminded herself of this morning's interaction with Draco.
She gently tore it open, not wanting to tear apart the pretty wrapping paper. It revealed a little black box. She slid the top off revealing a silver necklace that said her name.
Evangeline
She couldn't help, but form a little, sad smile. She went on over to her vanity/dresser, put the necklace on, and sighed.
