Weeks later:

Evangeline exited the Three Broomsticks alongside Cedric; they were going to head back to Hogwarts. They walked down the stone pathway that was now covered in snow as something absurd caught their eye.

"What the hell..." She said, looking at a girl that was floating in the air, making a T shape with her body. They came up behind this group of four other kids as the girl's body suddenly slammed onto the floor.

Cedric, feeling protective, grabbed Evangeline by the waist and pulled her closer to him. The girl Eva recognized as Katie Belle began twitching on the floor.

"Don't go any closer!" A man bellowed from behind everyone. They all snapped their necks around to see Hagrid marching toward them. "Get back! All of you!" Hagrid picked up the girl off the floor and began to carry her bridal style.

Eva looked to the boy next to her, on the opposite side of Cedric, only to see her brother. The twins both exchanged glances of fury. She took Cedric's hand and led him away from the situation, past Hagrid. She was not going to get involved in anything with her brother.

It was now Monday. It's been weeks since Draco and Eva have even said a word to each other, Cedric and her have gotten closer, Harry and her are still in a feud, and Mattheo is pretty much her best friend. Everyone here at Hogwarts still glared at her as if she were the school's psycho.

She was on the way to potions class; she had to use the restroom, but she knew Snape would loose his shit if she was late.

She sighed as she entered the Potions classroom. She hated having to share most of her classes with the Gryffindor students.

She went ahead and sat down next to Mattheo in the back of the class. Professor Snape immediately started his lesson once she had taken a seat. She zoned out, which she typically does. She always relies on Mattheo to know whats going on, which he didn't seem to mind even though she'd apologize relentlessly for it.

"Your ingredients should be behind your cauldrons." Professor Snape announced, "Begin! But I want Miss Potter to switch seats with Mister Goyle!"

She frowned, "Why?"

"Because I don't trust that you actually know what's going on in my class, Miss Potter." Professor Snape treated her name as if it were a slur, "Mister Riddle is your friend; he'd never tell me that you aren't paying attention. But Mister Malfoy here, would tell me all I need to know. Is that understood, Miss Potter?"

"Yeah. Sure." She stood up and grabbed her books that were on the table in front of her. She then headed over to the front of the classroom where Malfoy was seated. She dropped the books on the table and Draco glared at her for doing so.

Professor Snape really knew how to push buttons. Eva grabbed the bag of ingredients that was behind the cauldron and she did her best to act like she knew what she was doing. She felt embarrassed that Snape lectured her like that in front of the whole class.

She tried watching Draco from the corner of her eye to see what he was doing. He was great with potions and she was desperate.

She did pretty good with copying him. He was chopping up some root. He chopped up three pieces and put them in the cauldron. So, she did too.

"I know that you're copying me, Potter." He put his knife down on his cutting board.

Back to last names?

"I've told you before not to call me Potter." She replied blankly, not even acknowledging his confrontation. He rolled his eyes at her and continued chopping his root. "How do you know that I'm copying you?" She whispered, chopping her root as well.

"I was testing it." He answered, "You actually need six slices of the root, but I only put three in just to see if you'd do the same."

"Oh."

"You know, maybe if you paid attention, you wouldn't need to annoyingly rely on other people for help." He jeered, "You should hear how Mattheo talks about it."

Her heart dropped. She stopped chopping her root and she slowly looked up at Malfoy in the face. "He talks shit about me?"

The cold stare on his face quickly changed to guilt. A look she never thought she'd see on him. "No. I was over exaggerating. I'm...I'm sorry."
