*I got this quirk idea while my insomnia hit at around 2 AM. I was just staring at the ceiling in my bedroom contemplating life and this idea just popped up.*

So, my insomnia is random, clearly. 😅 But enjoy!

Quirk: Edge of Oblivion

Type: Emitter / Spatial

Description

Edge of Oblivion grants the user the ability to create and manipulate personal spatial rifts upon direct contact. These rifts transport touched objects, energy attacks, or people into an extradimensional void—an infinite, gravity-free, and timeless space where all matter falls endlessly in stasis.
The void does not destroy. It suspends.
Objects and beings can be retrieved only if the user consciously remembers their spatial coordinates or has marked them beforehand with void tags—dimensional anchors that enable easier tracking and summoning.

Rift creation requires intentional activation and direct physical contact, unless an area or object has already been tagged. The more proficient the user becomes, the more complex and fluid their control over the void becomes, including retrieval, distance activation, and even limited field-based phasing.

Early abilities (for starting class 1-A)

• Contact Voiding: By touching an object or person, the user can instantly phase part or all of it into the void (e.g., weapons, tools, projectiles, armor, small terrain pieces).

Item Storage:

The user can store and recall non-living matter from the void, such as medical kits, shields, or utility gear. Requires focus and memory.

Attack Absorption:

Small-scale attacks (knives, thrown weapons, low-impact blasts) can be nullified on touch and phased into the void.

Disarming:

The user can void an enemy’s weapon or equipment with a single touch.

Void Tagging:

Spatial “tags” can be placed on objects or surfaces, marking them for future interaction, redirection, or retrieval.

Null Shimmer (Passive Field):

At close range (~1 meter), a faint shimmer distorts physical space. Light projectiles slow slightly, terrain flickers, and footing may destabilize. This passive field is subtle at early stages and enhances with training.

New abilities and enchantments after proper training:

Void Relay:

The user can phase an object, person, or attack into the void at one point and retrieve it at another pre-tagged location. Enables teleportation, surprise attacks, and rescue maneuvers.

Void Flicker Counter:

Momentarily voiding part of an enemy’s limb during combat causes disorientation or a brief pause, ideal for non-lethal takedowns.

Spatial Memory Recall:

With practice, the user improves their recall of voided objects or people, retrieving them more quickly even without tags.

Space Map:

The user can visualize their void space as a constellation map of tagged items and coordinates, aiding in quick retrieval and awareness.
