Quirk: Onmyoji

Type: Emitter / Transformation

Description:

An  Onmyoji is a traditional Japanese sorcerer who mastered the balance between spirits, nature, and the occult. This quirk grants the user the same role, allowing them to open dimensional portals to sealed yokai domains and wield their power. By summoning, channeling, or binding these yokai, the user acts as a modern Onmyoji—commanding both benevolent and malevolent spirits for offense, defense, or support. With mastery, the user can forge contracts, seize true names, or even fuse with yokai to unlock godlike abilities.

Core abilities:

1. Portals & Seals

The user creates dimensional rifts to yokai domains.

Portals can be partially or fully opened:

Partial Release → allows controlled access to power.

Full release → can be dangerous if the yokai tries to go on a rampage or take control/harm the user.

To prevent this, this is why contracts are often used for the benefit of both parties.

Each yokai has a unique domain signature, allowing the user to sense, track, and select specific spirits based on needs.

2. Channeling Yokai Power

The user can draw yokai energy directly into themselves, resulting in:

Physical enhancements: strength, speed, stronger physical constitution/durability, endurance, enhanced senses, stamina, etc.

Elemental manipulation: fire, lightning, wind, shadows, etc.

Ethereal traits: invisibility, phasing, illusion-casting, energy projection.

More powerful channeling temporarily alters the user’s body with yokai traits (horns, glowing eyes, claws, aura, etc.).

3. Summoning Yokai as Allies

The user can summon yokai as independent entities to fight, heal, defend, or infiltrate.

Yokai vary in size and power—some act like familiars, others are devastating forces of nature.

Summoned yokai are semi-autonomous but tethered by the user’s will and contracts.

4. Dual Energy Manipulation

The user can command both malevolent and benevolent yokai:

Malevolent spirits: destructive, offensive, fear-inducing powers.

Benevolent spirits: protective, healing, support-based powers.

Mastery requires a balance—channeling too much of either type risks corruption or spiritual instability.

Combat Applications:

Solo Fighter

Destructive Offense: Call upon destructive yokai for massive AOE attacks (firestorms, lightning strikes, shadow floods).

Temporary Transformation: Channel a yokai into one’s body for elemental control, sensory boosts, or monstrous strength.

Adaptability: Different yokai cover stealth, healing, raw power, or mobility, making the user nearly impossible to predict.
