Chapter 48

Before heading to the library I had ducked into the hospital wing to how Ritchie was doing. No change, which Madam Pomfrey said was good for now and I had to accept it. With a kiss to Ritchie's forehead and giving his hand a squeeze telling him that I was still waiting for him and would even write an essay or two for him when he woke up I headed off to the library.

By the time it was time to head to Care of magical Creatures I had completely finished my essay on 'The Migration Theory' for history of Magic and finished reading through the notes from the lesson and answering some questions to show Professor Binns that I understood the class content. I had also gotten to work on some other homework I still had to complete for Defence against the Dark Arts but didn't quiet have enough time to finish it.

I tried not to think about Ellie too much while I was working. It was completely horrible what had happened to her and it made me really upset but I didn't know her. What right did I have to get overly emotional about it? I decided I would make an effort to better know the younger students before the end of the year.

I understood why Blaise and Ginny had both wanted to make sure I was okay. They probably thought that this would trigger memories of what happened to my family. They needed to realise that I have those memories every day. Ellie's friends deserved the schools support right now and I would try to be there for them in any way they needed.

I quickly dropped my work from the library in my room and grabbed what I would need for Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration and Charms and dashed down to the Divination classroom to wait for Jimmy and Ginny to walk down together with to Care Magical Creatures. Dumbledore had said that to go outside I would need a buddy.

"Hi" I greeted as Ginny came walking out with Mary, Jimmy and Jack. "Hey" "Hi" "Hey" "What are you doing here?" Mary, Jimmy and Ginny greeted and Jack asked. "Waiting to walk to class" I said laughing as Jack fell into step besides me.

"Naww, you're gonna walk me to class" Jack teased wrapping an arm around my shoulder. "Do you wanna carry my books for me too?" Jack asked in the same teasing tone and I laughed shrugging him arm off me. "Careful Jack" Jimmy said from behind. "Don't want Zabini, Potter OR Malfoy to think you're flirting with Sarah" Jimmy said really emphasising the 'or' in his sentence.

"Oh please she and Ritchie carry on ten times worse" Jack responded to Jimmy with a smirk causing all of us to laugh...it was true in a way.

"I wonder what we will be doing today" Mary commented from next to Ginny. "I mean if we can't go into the forbidden forest what could we possibly be doing for class?" She added and I shrugged not knowing. "Probably working with the Crups again" Ginny answered and Jack groaned.

"Can't we have anything more fun than that?" He asked and Ritchie agreed. "Something dangerous" Jimmy mentioned and Mary scoffed. "Dangerous probably is not the best thing right now" She commented dryly and not knowing what to say the rest of the walk to class was silent.

"Now I am very pleased with the few of you who have been coming down to visit the Crup pups" Hagrid started off the lesson by saying and I looked at the ground guiltily – I had not been one of those people. "I had wanted to start on Unicorn's today" Hagrid added to the excitement of everyone including me.

"However as we cannot go deep enough into the forbidden forest that lesson will have to be postponed until another time" Hagrid added gruffly and I groaned along with most every other student. "But that leaves this lesson open" Hagrid continued "So let's go spend some more time with those Crup pups before they have their tails snipped and are adopted out to various wizarding families" Hagrid said cheerfully enough.
