"Who would like to go first?" Snape asked in an almost gleeful voice. Nobody raised their hands so Snape sighed pointing at Rachel who was sitting on the far Left side of the room in the first row. "Left to right it is" Snape said before his face became blank and Rachel stiffened.

Rachel, Bridget, Fergus and Irfan were in the front row of Slytherin and they all seemed to be shaking and slightly pale. Geoffery, Andrew, Jack and Vicky went next.

Maynard, Peter, Flora, and Hestia were all shaken up before Jimmy and then Colin and then...Me. It was like being doused in ice-cold water. I didn't even have time to prepare before Snape was shifting through my memories.

It didn't feel like a memory though; it felt like I was reliving it! I tried to stop the inevitable, but the more I struggled the more painful it became.

I followed Casey as she quietly crept into the hall we were about to run in after them when we heard our mother screaming, screaming for us to run and then we heard the Killing curse cast and my mother's voice stopped mid scream.

I screamed in shock and Casey grabbed my hand and started dragging me towards the stairs. We didn't even make it three steps when we heard the thudding of footsteps running up the stairs.

We quickly altered our route and barrelled through my room. I slammed the door behind me as Casey threw the window open. We were on the second floor but she didn't hesitate, Casey dropped to the ground and I flung my legs over the ledge as a curse blew apart my bedroom door. I turned as I dropped, I couldn't see his face, but I could see his eyes. I would never forget those eyes.

I dropped to the ground with a thud and I fell and rolled a little before Casey was grabbing my arm and hauling me to my feet.

I could hear the footsteps of our pursuers chasing after us, shouting out stunning spells thankfully missing every time.

we ran into a nearby park and through the woods surrounding it, the woods were dark we had played in them often as little kids so we continued in further deeper hoping to lose the people chasing us.

The sticks and vines hurt my feet and I stumbled a few times but kept running. The woods led to another park and a lake i thought we were safe. The woods were thick and I would take and unbelievably good tracker to tack us through them.

I was wrong, they had a good tracker. Fenrir Greyback had followed us and when we stopped running to catch our breath, he took his chance and jumped taking down Casey and biting her.

"NO" I screamed in distress. "REDUCTO" I shouted at the ware wolf he simply dodged the curse and dropped Casey's body to the ground with a sickening thud, she was dead.

As quickly as it begun it was over, Snape pulled from my mind with so much force it left me shaking. Tears were slipping down my face as I sat stunned; completely in shock. Snape had just witnessed the worst day of my life. He had made me relive it. "Interesting" Snape mumbled staring at me for a few moments before moving on.

I was so distraught and trying to hold myself together I didn't realise Snape had gone through the rest of the class until I heard Romilda scream as Snape left her mind. "I hope you can all now understand why this is such an important thing to learn" Snape said to the class before giving us a small sad look. "You may leave early, class dismissed" he said with a wave of his hand.

Snape had never let class out early, any other day and the class would have been jumping from their chairs cheering as we ran out of the room stuffing our school work into our bags on the way. Today however it was slow, numbly placing everything into the correct spot in my bag. Slowly pushing back my chair and following the other students out.
