Chapter 35

"...and then he says 'see you in potions' and walks away" I told Ginny in a slightly manic way. We were sitting on her bed while the other girls were all downstairs partying it up with the rest of our house. "Was it a good kiss?" Ginny asked totally intrigued by what I was telling her.

"What do you mean 'was it a good kiss'? Of course it was a good kiss" my manic voice returned. "Ginny what does it mean?" I asked pathetically. "You're asking me? I kissed Harry at Christmas and he hasn't really spoken to me since" Ginny said in slightly the same manic voice as me.

"I have no idea how the male mind works, I've tried everything to show Harry that it wasn't just a Christmas thing but he just isn't getting the message." Ginny said and I sighed agreeing with her. "Boys suck" I said bitterly. "Yep, they sure do" Ginny said in the same tone I had used. The other girls came back then and we all went to bed.

The next morning I was up early, the potions Madam Pomfrey had given me were working well and my body was starting to hurt less. I spent a little more time on my make-up and hair; mostly to hide my head injury; I even contemplated switching out my converse for flats but decided against it. How is it, that one little kiss had me acting like some love-sick teen?

Probably because I was a live sick teen! Wow was I pathetic!

"Ginny" I whispered as we walked out of the common room together headed down to breakfast. "How am I supposed to act now"? I asked referencing to the kiss Draco and I shared last night; I swear I could still feel it. "Act cool" was Ginny's 'helpful' advice.

Ritchie caught up with us as we neared the first floor, my painful sides making it difficult to move at anything more than a snail's pace. "You will never guess what happened to me last night" Ritchie sang falling into step with us.

"And you won't guess what happened to Sarah last night" Ginny laughed causing Ritchie to focus his attention on me. "Spill" he said. "Sarah and Draco kissed" Ginny 'spilled' for me. "Well it's about time" was Ritchie's smart ass reply.

We had finally made it to the table and I sunk slowly into my seat careful not to hurt myself further before dragging the entire bowl of peach slices towards me. Ginny and Ritchie shot me confused looks. "It hurts to chew" I supplied them as I began swallowing the smooth fruit in who slices.

"So do tell Ritchie what happened last night, you get laid"? I asked causing Ginny to splutter her breakfast juice, earning her a few laughs and a few 'eww, gross' from younger girls. "Maybe" Ritchie responded and it was my turn to sputter my breakfast juice.

"Are you kidding me"? I asked in shock. Ritchie simply gave me a smug look and Ginny and I sat stunned for a few moments. "Wow" Ginny finally responded. "Why would you even tell us that? I mean out of everybody you have to tell"? I asked causing Ritchie to laugh.

"You do realise you are my best friend right"? He asked completely serious making me smile. "Well wipe the bread crumps off your face best friend because your girlfriend just walked into the room" I commented and Ritchie's face light up like a Christmas tree.

"Would you hate me forever if I went to say hi"? Ritchie asked and I shook my head laughing "Say hi for me" I commented and Ritchie kissed me on the cheek before practically skipping down to join Ann-Marie giving her a long kiss as he sat down beside he.

"Now that is about time" I commented to Ginny smiling as I watched Ritchie and Ann-Marie together. "...locked in the bathroom crying" I heard Romilda saying to Mary and Vicky. "I heard she was with McLaggen ever since after the match but has been in the bathroom ever since" Mary added.

"Who are you guys talking about?" I asked them earning a glare from Romilda "Demelza; obviously" Romilda spat out. "What bathroom"? I asked casting a worried look to Ginny. "Sixth floor" Vicky supplied and with a nod from Ginny we both stood up from the table to make our way to see if Demelza was okay.
