Chapter 38

We spoke over breakfast and Ritchie was proud that I had stood up to Jimmy like I had. McGonagall came by and spoke to both Ritchie and I about what happened and soon after we were being ushered into the bathrooms to shower and when I returned to my bed I noticed a box of every flavour beans and some chocolate frogs.

"Ritchie check it out, jackpot" I said holding up my loot. "Well don't hold out on me, hand some over" he said practically drooling over the candy Blaise had obviously left me. I laughed before chucking the box of every flavour beans at his head.

"So we have our last Quidditch game for ages next weekend" I asked Ritchie and Demelza who were busy tossing the box of every flavour beans between them. "Yeah, up against Hufflepuff. Then we don't play again until May" Ritchie said and Demelza sighed.

"I won't be playing again" Demelza commented and I looked at her shocked. "What do you mean"? I asked. "I'm done with Quidditch, besides I won't be able to play again for at least two months" Demelza said and I sat in shocked silence for a few minutes.

"But you love Quidditch" I finally managed to say causing Demelza to shrug. "I used to, now it's just a bad reminder" she said before sighing loudly. "I'm tired" she said ushering for Madam Pomfrey to come over. Madam Pomfrey cast a charm around Demelza's bed curtains making it so she couldn't hear us.

"That's rough" Ritchie said and I nodded. "So Ginny wasn't in class after lunch yesterday, you know anything about that?" Ritchie asked and I laughed. "Yeah, I may have been down with Ginny in the dungeons watching a bunch of Slytherin's beat McLaggen to within an inch of his life" I commented lightly to Ritchie's shocked face.

"You did what"? He asked with his jaw wide open. ""McLaggen deserved it, actually me and Ginny felt pretty bad and left. Guess revenge isn't a quality found in Gryffindor's" I said and went on to explain to Ritchie what really happened.

"So Anne-Marie, What's the story with that"? I asked once we had finished to story about McLaggen. "She's great" Ritchie commented and I smiled widely. "Yeah, she's really nice" I said thinking back to my experiences with Anne-Marie.

"She really likes you too" Ritchie commented and I laughed. "She fully gets that you're my best friend and isn't even insecure or anything about it" Ritchie said and I smiled. "And I told her about how when Jimmy got with Flora how he completely ditched us and she promised we wouldn't be like that" Ritchie said with a huge grin and sparkle in his eye.

"How long have you two been seeing each other"? I asked. If Anne-Marie agreed to have sex with Ritchie than they obviously weren't a new thing. "Just after Christmas break" Ritchie said and I almost chocked on my chocolate frog. "Three months"? I asked shocked.

"You've been hiding a secret girlfriend from me for three months"? I asked shocked as Ginny and Jack walked in casting curious looks between me and Ritchie. "You two aren't fighting are you?" Ginny asked and I laughed "Not yet" I said casting a fake glare at Ritchie.

"We brought you homework" Jack informed me. "You have got to be kidding me" Ritchie groaned slumping back on his bed. "Snape doesn't really care if the two of you are in the hospital wing" Ginny informed us as she dropped the home work and my DADA books and writing equipment on the end of my bed.

"He wants the work we did in class today, plus homework, plus notes from last night's duelling by Friday" Jack said as he dumped Ritchie's stuff on the end of his bed. "Notes from duelling"? Ritchie asked shocked. "I didn't take any notes, I was busy duelling" Ritchie yelled outraged.

"Same goes for the rest of us, but Snape doesn't care" Ginny said shrugging her shoulder in acceptance. "We better get going though" Ginny said leading Jack to their next class promising to bring Ritchie any homework he may need. I hoped somebody would bring me my charms work or else I was going to be very behind.
