I sat with the girls during breakfast though a little while after we had sat down Harry walked in with what I was guessing to be the other sixth year Gryffindor's.
They sat near us and I was introduced to Harry's best friends Ron and Hermione. Ron was Ginny's older brother and Mary whispered to me that he had a huge crush on Hermione.
Kellah, Parvati, Lavender, Fay and Ginger were the other sixth grade girls while Neville, Dean, Seamus, Bem and Rivers were the other sixth grade boys.
I mostly talked with Ginny and Neville who I found sweet and kind. I decided quickly that I didn't care much for Romilda, Vicky or Mary since they mostly spent their time gossiping meanly about other girls. Demelza was okay, she didn't participate as much.
All too soon Ginny was pulling me out of my chair telling me we had to run to our room for we didn't bring our books with us.
The day past fast It was Wednesday and I had Divination, Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration and Potions.
I sat with Ginny in all my classes, we were reading through The Dream Oracle in Divination. We spent most of the lessen taking down notes we thought were important, we were also instructed to keep a dream journal to bring to class every day to work through what our dreams were telling us.
The Divination work was exactly the same as how the class had started at my old school. I hoped the rest of my classes were not going to be the same, I was months ahead of my year.
Care of magical creatures with Hagrid was interesting, he was very excited to see me and kept raving about Harry and how he knew that I hadn't really been captured or killed. It was a little embarrassing especially since being an elective this class had Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherine students as well.
When finally Hagrid began the lesson class was nearly over so we were told to spend our time between now and our next class to read up on Bowtruckle's. I was happy that my old school hadn't started off with the same thing, in fact we hadn't covered them at all, these magical creatures didn't live in Australia and I couldn't wait to read up on them.
During lunch I was bombarded with questions all over again whist being stared at while almost every student making me too self-conscious to eat anything, I just sipped on a glass of water.
Ginny spent time between classes pointing out students to me and a lot of them would come over and say hi. She pointed out the other houses and explained the house cup and how to earn points.
The system was similar to the one back at my own school. While my old school didn't have houses, we had colours. Our colours were based on our last names, A to E was Red, F to L was Yellow, M to P was Blue and Q to Z was Green.
I supposed that these basically were the same colours as the houses here so it wasn't too confusing.
After lunch Ginny led me to Transfiguration which our head of house taught. Unfortunately for me we were learning how to turn an owl into opera glasses, which I had mastered at my old school.
After successfully completing the transfiguration when McGonagall asked me too I sat back and watched the other student's attempts. Ginny almost got it right; there were just some feathers and wings.
I spent the lesson helping Ginny and by the end of class she had it right. Professor McGonagall asked me to stay behind for a minute after class ended and Ginny told me she would meet me in the great hall before potions.
"I realise you have already learned a great deal of the transfigurations I will be teaching this year, I would like for you to perform them for me and I will decide whether you need more practice or to move you on ahead of the class" Professor McGonagall said to me smiling a little.
