Hey, I just wanted to put out there that I was extremely busy during this writing period so I cannot be certain that this will not be a trigger free chapter. Please let me know if there are any scenes that make you uncomfortable so I can label the triggers accurately.
Also again thank you for those still reading, I know it has been a long journey.
Sorry for any typos x
Alistair Ryle ~
After a long Monday morning and afternoon being in court, we had finally left the room, hand in hand as the swarm of reporters and cameras tried to attack us.
I could feel it. I could feel every beating pulse that was moving within Iman's palm that I held. I could feel the heat, sadness and the weakness that held onto my skin with all of her might, but one emotion I could not mistake from her was anger.
Iman was angry at me. There was no mistaking that. I did not need her hand to tell me she was angry at me through skin. Her deciding to stop looking at me for comfort and support during the court readings was enough to get through to my head. I was the last person she wanted to look at for help. And maybe she was right to feel that way. Maybe today only reminded her of all the ways I failed her when it mattered most.
"YOU ONLY WANT ME TO GO HOME BECAUSE YOU'RE INSECURE THAT THERE ARE BOYS MORE GOOD LOOKING THAN YOU THAT MAY SCOOP ME AWAY. YOU CAN'T HANDLE ALL OF THIS!" Iman shouted seriously out of nowhere, then started to laugh her ass off
If that's how she feels, fine, I'm fucking leaving.
I found myself outside of the booming building, that continued to blast music. No matter how loud it was, I could still hear Iman's slurred speech running through my head.
She couldn't have possibly meant that? Could she?
Becoming anxious, I took out a box of cigarettes from my pocket, taking one out of the packet to smoke. Iman had until I finished smoking to come out and go home with me. As much as she had pissed me off in front of everyone, I still wanted to give her more time to come and find me.
I was being slow with the way I inhaled and exhaled, becoming irritated that I was at the end of the cigarette and Iman had not come out as yet.
I took out another cigarette, almost lighting up the very thing she hated, thinking I just needed to give her some more time. But as time passed debating if I should re light the second cigarette, Iman was still nowhere to be found.
"Fuck her!" I muttered to myself, shoving the cigarette back in the box and immediately called a cab
Even once the cab arrived, I made excuses to wait for a short while and even pay the bloke, in hopes Iman would show up and she still had not.
And I know why she had not shown up.
If I had waited a little longer, went back inside as much as my pride didn't want to, I could've stopped it all. But could I have? I was so fucked in the head, I would've still try to make myself the victim even if I did come back for her.
We had finally got into the car, silence still between us. The moment I had looked at Iman for a split second, I had noticed she was not silent because she was angry, Iman was silent she was on the verge of fainting.
I caught Iman with quickness the moment her body went completely still as her head dropped.
"Call an Ambulance right now!" I ordered the cab driver firmly, my sternness almost slipping away as worry washed over me
