Iman Harriott ~I watched him as he nearly choked on his wine, as he tried to play it off.
"Sor- what do you mean by that Iman?" He cocked his brow, with a funny confused look on his face, but I was not joking
"You know what I mean Alistair- do you think that you brought me all the way out here and Discussed-" I prepared to quote out "- Our future lives together in the car, that I was going to forget about the conversation that we had in my dressing room that day?..."
He had nothing to say...all he did was drink the rest of his wine. Oh, he really thought he could get away with it...
"You're lying..." I laughed, resting back in my seat abruptly, knowing I was about to become pissed off
"No, I didn't think I could get away from that conversation-"
"Well, it looks like you did babe, just like how my stylist saved you from my question..."
"I simply forgot Iman, that does not mean I thought I could get away from it" he came up with an excuse
"That's not what you told me on the phone when we went through the three dresses, you told me you had a thought about the conversation, the only reason why I didn't bring it up then was because I thought having the conversation in person would be better..." I explained "...so since you are in person right now, let's start. You- Riot club...what the fuck was going on?"
"That's what you want to know about?" Alistair looked at me as if I was being overdramatic
"That's just the starting point Ryle, now tell me what the fuck was actually going on because those files you sent me...I have every right to feel that you weren't faithful to me during those two months..."
Now I know he was faithful to me after the conversation I had with Mariah, but I need to hear it from him. Trust is what's stopping me from having full faith in Alistair, this at least will help me understand where we stand and if there is for 100% a future.
"First of all, I never looked at another girl that was not you Iman. I never dreamed of it. I never imagined it and I never did it" Alistair got very serious " As far as the riot club, whatever you saw in those files is 100% true about Harry. Furthermore Iman I lasted less than two months in that society. After you broke up with me, I never turned up, so a lot of things that were happening, I did not even know- wait, is that why you're asking me if I was unfaithful to you, because you thought I was involving myself in the same questionable activities as Harry?..." He came to realise my frustration with the question
I nodded my head at him, he gave me a pitiful look. I wanted to feel bad the minute he looked at me that way, but I had to stand on business or I was going to throw away all the other questions I wanted to ask him.
"...Is that how low you think of me, Iman? I mean I cannot fault you for feeling this way, but I despised him when we were together, why would you think that I want to commit the same things he did?"
"Because I don't think I can trust you. I can't fully give myself to you because you can't give yourself fully to me" I admitted
"But can't you see I'm trying to do that-" he tried to be reasonable "- I listen to every one of your needs, I've told you how I feel about you, I make sure that if I fuck up, I won't make those mistakes again-"
"Yeah, all of that but not leave your wife" I cut him off, leaving him with his mouth closed
We stared at each other. Not one of us said a word. Now I've made these jokes before, but I'm serious and I know he knows it because he would've said something. He just looked at me, so I mirrored his very same look.
