Iman Hariott ~"So the first question of the day is from Lynette, as she seems to be having some difficulties on how to get her boyfriend to like the same things as her- is Lynette in the building?" I started the next topic of the segment, looking up at the audience, waiting for a 'Lynette' to appear
I watched the blonde woman stand up from her seat, as Melanie walked with the mic, to get to her in the seated crowd.
"Hi Lynette" I smiled at the woman, as Alistair followed pursuit with a smile
"Hi Iman and Alistar- My boyfriend and I have been dating for nearly two years now. I have never had any problems with him and he treats me well...except for this one tiny issue-"
"Oh what has he done?" I added in my little ad-lib, becoming drawn to Lynette's story
"My boyfriend and I have different interests, when it comes to hobbies, which is fine, as there is really no such thing as having everything in common with your partner. I love the arts, culture, musicals etcetera, but my boyfriend doesn't, and I see no effort on his part in trying to enjoy what I love- especially when I have built a love for his interests. How do I get my boyfriend to fall in love with at least one of my hobbies or even maybe more?"
After hearing that story and her question, all I could say about the that was "Find yourself a new man who will learn to love and appreciate your interests"
The audience clapped after my statement, as I heard Alistair chuckle lowly to himself.
No seriously, Appreciating your man's hobbies, but he can't appreciate a least one of yours...yeah he's got to go.
Two years at that as well...
"Is that your boyfriend next to you?" Alistair pointed out.
The audience made 'oh' sounds and went silent with curiosity, all looking to see if the man who was sitting next to Lynette, her man.
"Yes that's him" she laughed out
"Stand up- I want to hear his point of view-" Alistair stated "- What's your name sir?"
"My name is William" Melanie passed the mic to William
"You've been with Lynette for two years-"
"Correct" William, answered as he nodded his head
"And you love her right?"
"How can I not love her?..." He looked at his girlfriend, with admiration
Ahhh I can tell he loves her...but her hobbies on the other hand...
"So what's making you not fall in love with her love for the culture?" Alistair asked
"I've tried and tried and tried to fall in love with her hobbies as much as she has with mine, but I just can't..."
I can tell he's fighting to say her hobbies are boring, but he's a good man because what man in their right mind would think it's a good idea to dig himself into a deeper hole for themselves?
"what are your hobbies, William?" I asked
"I love building and collecting rare Lego sets-"
"He takes his building very seriously" Lynette added on
"why don't you get your friends to go with you to these events instead. I know, it's nice to do things with your partner, but sometimes a girls night out is what you may need?"
You see what I mean, if I didn't know any better, Old Alistair would've straight up told Lynette that she was boring and she'd have to deal with it.
"Is that what Alana and you do?" I asked curiously to Alistair
