Iman Harriott ~

"It's only right if Iman gets to cook for me, I'll cook for her as well..." Alistair started off, directing his speech to the audience

Alistair then turned his head to look down at me, sharing a tight lipped grin at me.

"So what will you be cooking for me to eat today, Alistair?" I mirrored his same exact look, directly up against him

"I'll be cooking one of my favourite brunch meals, which is corn fritters, piled with bacon and avocado...but before I get into that, I'm going to make Madras, which is a very simple drink mixed with cranberry, orange juice and vodka"

"Alana loves cocktails with our brunches, so she usually makes it- I prefer to cook. I'm definitely not a person that enjoys pretty drinks, but this one for some reason is the only one that I enjoy" Alistair added on

I watched Alistair make the drinks, as he explained throughly step by step on how to make the cocktail.

"And there you have it-" Alistair added in the cut lime and the straws "- Madras cocktails"

I went and took my glass to have a try of the cocktail he made and the face that I made says it all. It's not a shit cocktail, it's just hella strong. Like it's actually midday, why is it spicy.

"Woah that is strong" I stated, but still kept drinking it because a drink is a drink

Are we even allowed to be drinking that high of a tolerance of alcohol on national television?

"That means I made it right" Alistair said confidently, taking a sip of his drink, as my mouth was left ajar, causing the audience to laugh

"You're actually crazy"

"Says the one still drinking the cocktail" Alistair clapped back

"A drink is a drink at the end of the day, and I'm going to drink it" I defended myself

I watched Alistair scrunch is face up a bit, trying to ignore the spiciness of the drink.

"Look at you-" I pointed out whilst smirking "- you know the cocktail is strong...no but in all honesty guys, this cocktail is really nice, it's just got some kick to it"

"So-" Alistair clapped his hands together "-moving on from my out of this world madras, as you can see we have the ingredients laid out for us to get started on the fritters..." Alistair motioned at the Ingredients

"...I'm going to place the three corn cobs in the pot, and I'll let that sit in there to boil for five minutes..." Alistair placed the corn on the cobs in the boiling hot water "...While that's going on, you'd want to grab two eggs, and your milk, pouring it into the bowl, to mix together..." I watched Alistair talk through his stages of making the mixture, while I remained siping on my cocktail

Alistair started to multitask, as he started to flicker his eyes at me, similar to what he did at Mariah's and Hugos baby shower, but this time he made it known he was looking at me.

"What are you looking at" I spoke through my straw, trying to strain away from the nervous smile that was threatening to form on my lips

I starred deep into his eyes. It looked like he wanted to say something else from the long pause he took, before smirking away.

"Looks like someone enjoyed the 'the cocktail that was too strong' to drink" Alistair sarcastically spoke

"You might have to make this one for me again after the show finishes airing"

"You might find yourself lucky then..." he confidently spoke

The cocktail started to taste like juice. I could no longer taste the intense flavour of the alcohol.

"The corn should be ready now. Iman can you remove the pot from the stove, and turn the hobb off?..." Alistair asked "...you would want to get a separate bowl, to add the flour in and once you have done so, gradually add in the milk mixture, ensuring that there is no lumps as I combine the mixture together"

"...once you have achieved the smooth consistency of your mixture, I'll head back to the corn on the cobs, getting a knife and a cutting board, to scrap of the corn. Once I've done that, I'll mix the corn kernels, shallots and the coriander. I'll set these aside for 15 minutes..."

"...now for the straight forward part- frying bacon. You can put in as much bacon as you like-" before Alistair could even pick up the plate that had the raw bacon, I dashed the whole thing in the frying pan "- or all of it"

"Hmm how do you like your bacon?"

"I feel like it depends on the meal you have it with" Alistair stated, while he played with the bacon in the pan

"Right, but if you were to have bacon on its own, how would you have it?"

"I'd say not too crispy but not too chewy- bang on in the middle. You?"

"I'm the same as well- I can't do crispy, I feel like it just tastes hella salty" I screwed my face at the distaste for crispy bacon

My mum loves it, I don't know how she does it.

"Right. I don't like bacon when it has that greasy feel and texture to it also" Alistair added

"Me too- I can literally taste the oil and the fat of it" I agreed, chiming in some more

"Thank god it's me making your bacon and not anyone else..." Alistair said, plopping the bacon on a fresh new plate

"Now what do we do after this?" I asked

"The next step is taking our batter and putting a little bit of the mixture at a time to fry, but why do that when we already have a batch ready" Alistair took out an already made batch of the fritters

"Oh these look good- I've never doubted you Alistair" I teased, looking at how golden brown and crispy the corn fritters look

"Wait until you take a bite, you'll be asking me for seconds"

"Don't flatter yourself as yet Alistair I gotta taste it before I give you 100%"

"She's going to enjoy my fritters, it's her pride that's stopping her" Alistair joked to the audience as I rolled my eyes

Alistair shared out a plate for both of us, putting an equal amount of corn fritters on our plate. He got the bacon and placed them on top of the fritters, decorating the meal with tomato relish and coriander.

"And there you have it, bacon corn fritters"
