Pain instantly seared across her palms, a wince tearing from her throat. She hadn't realized just how painful launching a Molotov Cocktail in her condition would be. Kori grimaced, swallowing down the ache just as they made contact with their target. The bomb landed on the deck everyone was standing on, a fire erupting and lighting two people on fire in the process.
Whoops.
"Kori!" Logan exclaimed, dropping down by her side.
His eyes were rapidly shifting down to her hands, concern etched on his face because of the sound he'd heard come from her. "I'm fine. I'm fine." She reassured him, quickly getting to her feet. "We gotta go."
"Let's go get JJ!" John B agreed, having climbed back into the boat at some point between almost killing all of them and then Kori and Logan hitting it in one go.
The HMS Pogue ripped through the water, speeding towards the other boat. By the time they reached it, though, JJ was long gone. Without knowing where he was, they only had one option left. And that was to infiltrate the boat.
Logan turned back to Kori, dark eyes already decided. "Stay here. We'll get him."
She couldn't argue with him; she was injured. "Okay."
"Just circle back around. We'll find him!" John B instructed, jumping onto the boat.
It was pure chaos as Logan joined him, turning all the way around to take it all in. Everyone was fighting everyone, the fire they'd started still raging. Some people were in the water, others on the deck, but everyone was in a brawl of sorts. Finally getting his surroundings, Logan's gaze darted to the door.
One glance at John B and they were flying through it, Logan in the lead. "J!" He shouted, haphazardly stumbling into what appeared to be the kitchen.
"JJ!" John B echoed, coming up behind him.
"Guys?!"
Just as JJ's voice registered in his mind, someone appeared around the corner. Logan didn't have so much as a second to react, but he didn't need it. John B grabbed the fridge door, opening it just wide enough to slam it into the man's face. He instantly crumpled to the floor from the force of the impact.
Logan exhaled, but he didn't have time to process. Not anymore. He lifted his head at the same time someone ran at him from the other direction. His mind altogether shut down, the only thing fueling his actions being fight or flight. He chose fight. As the man neared him, Logan grabbed a fistful of his shirt to whirl him around. Then he slammed him into the wall.
The man's head was what hit the shelves first. Hard. His eyes rolled into the back of his head, remaining there as his body went slack in Logan's hands. A breath spilled out of his mouth as he let go of his shirt, letting his body slump to the floor at his feet. His heart was racing, pounding against his ribcage as he met John B's surprised expression.
A figure appeared behind him, panic washing over Logan as his eyes widened. Without taking a second glance, he picked up the nearest plate, but a hand wrapped around his wrist before he could use it. "It's me! It's me!" JJ yelled, the alarm in Logan's face immediately leaving.
"Shit! I almost killed you." He breathed out, dropping his hand as JJ let go.
John B just stood there, confused by it all. Then it hit him– where they were, who was on this boat, how dangerous it was for them to still be there. "We gotta go! We gotta go! Right now!"
Neither of them argued with him, making a break for the door. Logan glanced back at JJ as they ran up a set of stairs, different from how they'd entered the kitchen. A sigh tore from his throat as he eyed the machete in the blonde's hands. "Really, dude?"
