〰⋅〰⋅〰Confusion was the one emotion swirling amongst the group. Why would anyone want to kidnap Kiara? It made zero sense. Hell, they weren't in the Outer Banks or even in Guadalupe. They were in Barbados. So unless Ward Cameron had washed up and found his way there, there was no logical reason why anyone would want to kidnap Kie.
Kori was pacing—as she usually did—millions of ideas racing through her mind. Her head was throbbing but she honestly didn't care. At all. Her best friend was missing. She'd been taken and now they had to get her back. She didn't care how or what they did, just as long as they got her back.
"Okay, what's the plan?" She finally asked, stopping in front of everyone. "Like, how are we getting her back? We need to figure out a plan right now."
Pope lifted his head from where he sat, gaze inherently flickering up to the dried blood still coating her hairline. "We will. But can we just take a minute, Kor?"
Her face contorted. "No, Pope. We can't. They have Kie and we need to get her back. So what are we doing?"
"Kori, he's right. You might have a concussion." John B pointed out. "You kind of almost just died."
"I don't care if I almost just died!" She exclaimed, head incredulously shaking at them. "This is bullshit. We need to get her back."
No one said anything, all equally desperate to get Kiara back. They just didn't know how they were going to do that just yet. It was quiet momentarily as Kori resumed her pacing, eyes rolling into the back of her head.
Logan kept his focus on the sand beneath him, gaze periodically lifting to the blonde. She was fine, but he was still pretty shaken up from what had happened. Kori had almost died. She could've died. That alone made him nauseous.
"I am so sick of this." Sarah piped up. "Do you think there's any way we could trust the cops?"
A scoff sounded from one blonde's mouth as another stood, blue eyes darting to hers. "The cops? You're joking, right?" JJ questioned, carelessness beginning to lace his tone. "You seriously think your daddy hasn't called them already?"
"I have a crazy idea." Pope voiced. "Why don't we call my parents?"
"And say what, Pope?" John B responded.
"And say we're alive. I haven't seen my family in— I don't know how long. They're probably worried sick about me. We can just call and ask them—"
Kori turned to him. "Okay and while you're worried about familial relationships, we'll get Kie back. Thanks for being a team player, bro."
Pope's gaze hardened, his head subsequently nodding.
"Shit. I'm sorry. I just—" Kori let out a breath, eyes closing. "I just want Kie back."
"So do I. Fighting's gonna get us nowhere though. We have to work together." He elucidated, bitchy remark already forgotten about.
"I have a better idea." JJ voiced, taking the remaining steps to them as he lifted a wallet in the air. "And faster."
Sarah's eyes narrowed. "Who's is that?"
"You seriously think I'm gonna go through someone's backpack and not pinch their wallet?" He asked, glancing down at the card he'd pulled out. "'Jimmy Portis, 101 Cattle Wash.'"
Kori grinned as the wallet was thrown in her direction, stolen item landing in her palms.
"You thinkin' what I'm thinkin,' Kor?"
