〰⋅〰⋅〰FENTON: Meet @ pin 6:15 P4L
Everyone stared down at the text on Portis' phone. JJ still held it, blue eyes pinned down on the screen. Who was Fenton? And why did he want to meet with them? It could've been a trap or an ambush fabricated by Singh. They had tied up his men and left them in the hotel after he'd told them to go ahead and kill both of them.
It didn't make any sense.
"Are we supposed to believe that's Kiara?" Sarah asked.
"I don't know. This all could be a trap. It's exactly how he set us up last time." Pope pointed out.
"Sometimes you guys can be so stupid." Cleo voiced, head shaking as she turned to face them.
Kori glanced at her. "Okay, what?"
"You get beat so bad, you flinch even when someone's trying to help." She said, bending down to tap on the phone. "'P4L.' It's Kiara, man! No way she sent dat as bait. They'd have to kill her. We gotta help her. Come on, man."
Logan stood as she jogged towards the entrance, head tilting. "I agree with Cleo. We gotta at least try, right?"
"Damn right." Kori remarked, getting to her feet. "Kie's not staying there another night. This is it. Let's go."
The rest of the pogues were quick to follow, phone being passed from teenager to teenager as they traveled to the pinned location. They made sure to stay out of sight, hugging sidewalks and sides of buildings. Who knew how many of Singh's men were out on the streets looking for them?
They quickly reached the marina, not having been too far away from wherever Kie might've been. Their eyes trailed alongside the boats, walkways, and buildings, checking for anyone that might've been watching them. It was clear, no sign of danger, but also no sign of Kiara.
"Guys, is that her?" JJ asked, pointing to the boardwalk on the other side of the water.
Kori squinted her eyes, but could easily tell that the brunette wasn't Kie. "No."
"I don't think so." Pope echoed.
Cleo lifted her gaze from the phone, gaze shifting to one of the boats docked in front of them and to the left. It had the same markings and was exactly where the pinned location was. "Dat boat, dat's the pin. Da white one right there."
Before anyone was even given the opportunity to respond, the sound of a gun's safety clicking off and being loaded echoed loudly through the air. Kori whipped to her older brother, light eyes flickering down to the firearm he'd stolen as it was placed back in the waistband of his shorts.
"Jayj," She prodded.
"What are you doing?" Sarah asked.
"There's one way to find out." He answered, darting forward. John B attempted to stop him, but it was too late. He'd already stepped out into the light, bucket hat on. "Stay there!"
"JJ!" Kori hissed, eyes full of anger. He was going to get himself killed. She let out an arduous breath as her breathing picked up, heart beginning to beat faster in her chest. "I'm gonna kill him."
Logan glanced over at her, noting her tense posture and rapidly tapping fingers. When it came to JJ's safety, she was always worried. It was something he'd noticed on Poguelandia. Although the two Maybanks were reckless and a tad bit crazy, they were extremely protective of each other.
He tore his gaze from the blonde, forcing his attention back onto her brother. JJ had only made it a few feet when his name was being called, Kiara being on the other end of it. Relief filled her features as she ran the short distance to him, becoming enveloped in his arms.
