〰⋅〰⋅〰Well, it was official. Their treasure hunting worries were back. Not that treasure was their endgame. The only thing that mattered to any of the Pogues was saving Poguelandia. If they had to do a little deep sea diving at midnight to find some amulet on a famous shipwreck, then so be it. This was their solution.
A solution that had actually come with a lot more kinks than they'd realized. First, they needed to find the wreck so they knew where to dive. That's where Pope came into play, but he had come up short. His uncle would not reveal the exact coordinates for Blackbeard's ship, which Kori honestly figured would happen. So, they'd moved on to Plan B— JJ, Logan, and John B go to find Boogie, a friend of JJ's that just happened to be in the coastguard.
It was half-baked, but were their plans ever solid?
"Your receipt." Sarah gave their customer a warm smile as he took the dollar bill from her.
"Thanks."
"Come back anytime." She called out with a wave. "Except when the surf's good."
Kori glanced at her with a smile, the lift to her lips instinctively dropping as her brow knit together. "What?" She voiced, eyes narrowing.
Sarah just sighed, focus shifting to her.
That only caused Kori more confusion as her head tilted slightly. "Sare, what's up?"
"We're out of quarters." She announced, hand gesturing to the open cash register.
"Oh shit." Cleo piped up from the back counter.
"Don't worry. I can handle it." Kori decided, brow raising at either girl before her attention ultimately settled on Sarah. "Got a 10?"
"Yep. Thank you." She remarked, placing the bill in her palm.
"You can thank me when we've made another sale." Kori mused, backing up with a grin. "Be back in a bit."
As she turned back around, she slipped the cash into her pocket and made her way over to the house. She had no other choice than to take the Camaro. Would Logan kill her? No, but he might just lose all trust in her. Taking that into consideration, she grabbed the keys and walked out the front door, subsequently getting into the sports car.
Oh, who was she kidding? Logan was too in love with her to actually be mad that she'd taken the Camaro. Plus, they were out of change and she had gotten slightly better at operating a vehicle since their little stunt at the boneyard all those years ago. That made it fine, right?
Within a few minutes, she had pulled up to the bank. And she had done so safely. Everyone really needed to stop doubting her abilities. As she walked inside, there were a few people waiting in line, but not too many. That expedited the process quite a bit and before she knew it, she was walking out, back towards the double doors leading to the parking lot with a roll of quarters in her hand.
She was about to walk through the exit when her phone buzzed, causing her to glance down at the device in her hands. Her focus remained down as she pushed through the doors, stepping out into the June sun.
LOGE: good news– got the location.
LOGE: bad news– jj lost his bike
Kori's brow furrowed together as Logan began to type something else, three bubbles appearing on the bottom of her screen. "What the fric–"
The blonde suddenly collided with someone, the recipient's phone flying to the ground as a result. He'd also been on his device, the precise reason they'd even found themselves in this situation to begin with.
