Any warmth in your body vanished the second you stepped out of the library. The harsh December breeze, combined with being out way too late at night, just made everything worse. At least you didn't have to freeze alone.

"Aish, that was the last bus," you huffed, hands clutching onto your knees. If only you had arrived two minutes earlier.

But you guessed this sort of dilemma was expected when you left the library after 10 p.m. Some might call you guys crazy, considering you had gone there for a study date early in the afternoon. With finals aggressively knocking on your doors, you needed to make sure all the class materials were memorized, and every assignment was turned in on time. It wasn't until Jaemin gave a gentle nudge that you snapped out of your concentrated state.

Speaking of the boy, he offered a kind smile. "Well, I guess we're walking home."

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lost track of time," you frowned, letting out a frosty exhale. Of all days to miss the bus, why did the weather have to be so freezing?

He momentarily removed his hands from his pockets to zip up the collar of your black coat. His actions were like a gentle reminder that he was there with you, that you weren't alone in this late-night cold.

"Hey, at least you feel more prepared when Monday rolls around," he said, his voice warm and soothing despite the chill around you.

The corner of your lips slowly curved into a small smile. "Yeah, I guess. But still... now we have to walk in this cold," you sighed, reaching up to tug his white scarf snugger around his neck.

He leaned in easily, planting a soft peck on your lips. "It's alright," he murmured, "That just means more you-and-me time."

You hated how his simple, slightly cheesy words made your heart skip a beat. As you continued your way, Jaemin slipped his hand into yours, interlacing your fingers. The two of you shared a comfortable silence, walking side by side across the bridge.

The streets were quiet, powdered with snow that muffled beneath your boots. The city lights cast a soft glow, creating a serene atmosphere that contrasted with the urgency of your impending finals. No matter how many times you've seen Seoul post sunset, the view never gets boring to look at.

"Isn't it amazing that we get to live in this beautiful city?" You let out a quiet breath, stopping to admire all the tall buildings and sparkling billboards behind the white railing.

Jaemin shifted subtly to stand beside you, smiling in amusement as he waited for you to keep talking. He knew that taking in the aesthetic of the night was impossible when you were around. All he could do was smile as your eyes lit up just as bright as the scenery before you.

Your fingers curled around the railing, your head tilting back in awe. "Just think about it, Jaem. In five— ten years from now, we'll be looking at this same sky in a cozy little home with our kids."

Once the words settled, your eyes widened as your mind caught up to what you said, the last part slipping out without permission. "I didn't mean to say that— well, I did mean it," you rushed, stumbling over your words.

Jaemin chuckled softly, leaning in closer. "Uh huh. You just said you wanna have babies with me."

"Well... yeah," you muttered, heat flushing your cheeks. Your gaze dropped to your now frigid hands, struggling to maintain eye contact. "It's just— whenever I picture the future, intertwining our lives is naturally part of it. You know?"

"Naturally," Jaemin agreed, a stupid grin spreading across his face.

You scoffed, shoving at his chest, which barely counted as a push. "Come on, I can't be the only one who thinks about this stuff."

"Of course not," he replied, already stepping closer to wrap his arms around you from behind.

You grumbled in response, but didn't attempt to escape. However, your ears perked as you waited to see if his explanation would be worth it.

"Trust me," he murmured. "There isn't a single version of my future where you're not in it." He tightened his hold slightly. "The life you want to build with me—I want it even more. I'll plan the wedding of your dreams, find the perfect home for our family... and I'll take you and our children to Disney in Tokyo so they can ride that Rapunzel attraction you constantly show me videos of."

Yep, you couldn't stay annoyed any longer. Sometimes it was hard to believe that you were still stuck in college. Hearing him talk like that only made you want time to go by faster. You slowly turned in his embrace, lifting your gaze to meet those beautiful eyes that were automatically fixed on yours.

"And Na Jaemin wins yet again," you hummed, cupping the side of his face. "For being more romantic than me."

"Oh, princess, you have no idea," he breathed. Not another second was wasted before his lips locked onto yours.

Despite the gazillion times Jaemin had kissed you by now, he always made each one feel like a vow. The way his body molded so naturally against yours spoke his need to be close, while his lips collided against yours in a way that was gentle yet full of quiet passion that carried the assurance that you were cherished and safe with him. And when he smiled in the midst of the kiss from how perfectly you matched him with every moment, it made his head spin in the best way.

Even though your heart sank a little, you forced yourself to pull away. "Okay, okay. We really have to get a move on, Jaem."

"Why?? It's Friday night, and you know I'm not letting you freeze," he whined, pouting in the sulkiest way.

You laughed, grabbing his hand and tugging him down the path. "Sooo~ you can finish walking me to my place, and I can convince you to stay the night."

The invitation you'd just extended easily made his eyes sparkle. Although he still pretended to look offended. "I suppose an exception can be made, just this once."

"That's why I love you, dear," you teased, happy now that you both were finally picking up the pace.

Jaemin shook his head, pressing a chaste kiss to your knuckles. "Yeah, I love you way more. But let's walk a little faster before your tiny fingers turn into icicles."

You nodded mutually, a comforting sense of camaraderie enveloping you. While the wind still nipped at your cheeks, the biting cold had no power over the two of you. Sigh, you couldn't wait to return home.
