The team was hosting a small get-together after practice-nothing wild, just music, snacks, and everyone flopped around the living room in exhaustion.

Komori had shown up early (because of course he did), carrying three bags of snacks that he insisted were "absolutely necessary for survival." You were helping arrange everything when the power suddenly flickered... then died completely.

Someone yelled, "NOT AGAIN-WHO DIDN'T PAY THE ELECTRIC BILL?"

The room exploded with laughter and complaints, people tripping over cushions, someone stepping on a chip bag, and at least two players dramatically shouting for help.

In the pitch-black chaos someone suggested, "Let's play a game while we wait! SEVEN MINUTES IN-AHH-WHO JUST STEPPED ON ME??"

"Seven minutes in heaven!" another voice finished.

A flashlight beam sliced the darkness-Komori's phone. He was holding it under his chin like a bad horror movie villain.

"Okay," he said, trying to look spooky but only managing to look adorable, "who's brave enough to play?"

Names were tossed dramatically into a mixing bowl. Your heart skipped when you saw yours. Then Komori stirred the papers around with a flourish... and pulled out his own name.

He blinked. He stirred again. Pulled out yours. Blink. Blink.

The room screamed.

Komori instantly flushed bright pink. "Oh-I-uh-that's-okay! I mean-if you're comfortable! Are you? 'Cause if not we can-"

Before he could spiral, the group shoved you both toward the hallway.

The only quiet, safe place was the small storage alcove where the team kept towels and spare gear. Komori held up his phone light for you as you walked.

"Careful," he murmured, guiding you with a gentle hand at your back. "I don't want you tripping over anything. I've seen too many injuries in my career."

Inside, the door closed softly behind you. It wasn't pitch black-his phone cast a warm glow-but the space was small, barely enough for the two of you to stand without brushing shoulders.

Except... you were brushing shoulders. Lightly. Warmly. Accidentally-on-purpose.

Komori laughed quietly, breath soft. "Well... seven minutes." He rubbed the back of his neck, cheeks still red. "This is... actually kinda nice."

Your pulse tripped. "Yeah?"

He nodded, expression softening into something nervous and sincere. "Yeah. I mean-I like spending time with you. Even in... tight spaces?"

A beat of silence. His breath brushed your cheek as he shifted closer by instinct.

"Just so you know," he added shyly, "I didn't rig the papers. Even though I kinda wish I had."

His eyes flicked to your lips-just for a second-before he swallowed and looked away too quickly, ears pink.

The door rattled outside. Someone yelled, "THREE MINUTES LEFT! DON'T DO ANYTHING WE WOULDN'T DO!"

Komori groaned softly, face in his hands. "Oh my god... I hate them."

But you could feel his smile, warm and real, even behind his palms.

His hand brushed yours. Just barely.

You felt him hesitate. You felt him thinking. You felt him gather up every scrap of courage he had.

"Can I...?" he murmured.

He didn't finish the question, but he didn't need to.

You leaned in a little-enough to answer without words.

Komori reacted like he'd been given permission to breathe. He cupped your cheek with one gentle, trembling hand, and then-

He kissed you.

Not hard. Not rushed. Just a soft, careful press of his lips to yours, like he was afraid of hurting you, like he wanted the moment to mean something.

But when you kissed him back-

He made a small, unguarded sound against your mouth, pulling you in closer by instinct.

For a second, the tiny storage alcove felt too small for how big the moment was.

When he finally pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, breath warm and uneven.

"...wow," he whispered, eyes fluttering open. His smile broke slowly, shy but absolutely glowing. "I-I can't believe I did that."

You grinned. "You're not the only one."

Outside, someone shouted, "TIME'S UP! YOU BETTER NOT HAVE MADE ANY MESS IN THERE!"

Komori flinched, then burst into quiet laughter. He grabbed your hand without thinking as he pushed the door open, both of you stepping out into the dim hallway lights.

No one suspected a thing-everyone was too busy joking and shouting. But Komori?

He kept your hand in his for a full three seconds before realizing it and dropping it like it was burning him.

Then he shot you a small, secret smile-soft, warm, and absolutely love-struck-before jogging off to rejoin the group.

His ears were still red.
