The party was chaotic, loud music pounding through the house. You were laughing with Yamaguchi and some friends when, out of nowhere, someone shoved you and Tsukishima into a small storage closet.
"Seven minutes in heaven!" Yamaguchi shouted, slamming the door shut behind you.
"Yamaguchi!" you yelled, hitting the door. "Let us out-this is insane!"
From the dim interior, Tsukishima leaned casually against the wall, arms crossed, his usual cool demeanor intact. "...This is stupid," he muttered.
"Oh, this is stupid? Not like it's your fault you insufferable jerk," you shot back, glaring.
He smirked, tilting his head. "...You really like to talk, don't you?"
"And you like to ruin everything," you countered, stepping closer, heat rising between you.
"...Seriously, stop getting in my face," he said, narrowing his eyes-but he didn't step back.
"Oh, I'm in your face? Maybe you like it," you teased, inching closer, only to have him mirror your movement. The air between you crackled with tension.
He leaned in slightly, just enough that you could feel his breath. "...You're infuriating," he whispered, voice low.
"And you're unbearable," you shot back, heart racing as your noses almost touched.
The bickering continued, words sharp but laced with a heat neither of you wanted to admit. You poked him in the chest; he caught your hand, holding it firmly against his body.
"You're lucky I haven't shoved you into a wall yet," you muttered, trying to regain some composure.
"...Funny," he said, his lips just inches from yours, "...I was thinking the same thing."
You blinked, words failing, your pulse hammering. The tension between you had built into something electric, unavoidable.
Then, without another word, he tilted his head, pressed forward, and kissed you.
No hesitation. No warning. Just a sudden, fierce kiss that made your knees go weak.
Your hands flew to his shoulders, instinctively pulling him closer as he deepened the kiss, one hand moving to cup your cheek while the other slid around your waist.
"Kei-" you gasped against his lips, trying to push back, but he held you firmly. "...What are you doing?"
"...Shutting you up," he murmured, smirking against your mouth. "You wouldn't stop talking."
The closet felt impossibly small, the world outside completely forgotten. Every shove, every glare, every sarcastic jab from months of bickering had led to this-the heat, the closeness, the undeniable pull between you.
When you finally pulled back, foreheads touching, both of you breathing hard, he gave a half-smile. "...You're lucky Yamaguchi locked us in here."
"...Lucky?" you echoed, chest heaving. "I don't know if I'd call this lucky."
"Hell yes," he said, eyes dark with mischief and something deeper. "...Finally got you to shut up."
The faint click from outside reminded you of the seven minutes. But neither of you moved. Not yet-not when the tension, the heat, and everything simmering between you had finally boiled over.
You still pressed close to him, chest to chest, the faint scent of his cologne filling your senses. Your heart wouldn't stop hammering as your hands lingered on his shoulders, unsure if you should pull him closer or shove him away.
He tilted his head, lips brushing your temple in a teasing, tantalizing way. "...You're staring," he murmured, voice low.
"I-What?" you stammered, cheeks heating.
"Don't play dumb," he whispered, thumb tracing the line of your jaw. "...You like this. Admit it."
You rolled your eyes, trying to keep your pride intact, but the warmth pooling in your stomach betrayed you. "...Maybe I do," you muttered, barely above a breath.
Tsukishima smirked, his hands tightening slightly around your waist. "Good," he said simply. "...Because I've wanted this for months."
"Then... why do you always argue with me?"
"You're cute when you're mad. Plus, I didn't know how you felt."
"So asshole is your first language?"
"No," he chuckled, "It's more of second. My first language is anything that grabs your attention, shorty."
Your stomach fluttered, and before you could process, he leaned in again, capturing your lips in another fiery kiss. This one was slower, more deliberate, teasingly intense, as if he was savoring every second. Your fingers tangled in his hair, tugging lightly as you responded in kind, lips moving together in a rhythm that made the world outside vanish completely.
He pulled back slightly, just enough to whisper against your lips, "...I could stay like this forever."
You swallowed hard, chest rising and falling rapidly. "...I wouldn't stop you," you admitted, voice shaking but honest.
A faint laugh escaped him, low and amused, though his eyes burned with something more. "...Finally," he murmured, pressing another lingering kiss to your temple before capturing your lips again, slower this time, more possessive.
The sounds of laughter and shouting from the party outside felt like they belonged to another world-here, in the cramped closet with him, everything else faded. The bickering, the teasing, the "I hate yous" of the past months melted into this moment of pure, heated confession without a single word.
When he finally pulled back, breathing heavy, his forehead resting against yours, you couldn't help but grin through your flushed cheeks. "...You're insufferable," you teased.
"Yeah," he said, smirking but with a softness in his eyes that only you saw. "...But you like it."
You rolled your eyes again, but your heart betrayed you, racing wildly as your fingers found his hands again. "...Maybe I do."
