Y'vania's POV
The house is quiet when I get in, apart from the sound of my baby's laughter coming from the tv room.
The tv is on, playing his recent favourite song. He started telling me about it one late night and I couldn't understand it.
It didn't sound English. I was interested so I recorded him and tried to play it on YouTube, it came up and he screamed in joy and hugged me.
Turns out the name of the song is 'A ram Sam Sam'.
It's a Moroccan play song that encourages participation, boosts rythm and boosts cognitive flexibility through actions.
The song is designed to be repeated, increasing in speed each time to enhance listening skills and coordination.
He looks so adorable when he tries doing the dance routine; rolling his little hands, pointing his fingers to his head, turning around and repeating the routine faster with hysterical laughter. I caught Daniel humming it around the house more than twice. I can't blame him, the whole family including the house staff are catching on to his music playlists.
He is dancing with Nina and they both don't notice my presence.
I admire the way Elio is fond of Nina and the way Nina turned out to be a great person after all. In the beginning I was so worried and scared of leaving him alone with the help. Lissa found Nina for us. I really doubted her experience because she is young. She's older than me but she's young.
Nina is in her late twenties. When I interviewed her she told me that she is originally from Venezuela but she came to the USA and trained for children caregiving jobs and she was employed by an agency. She is working to support her younger siblings and her child back at home. She speaks fluent English and we got along really well after the first interview. I treat her as family and I prefer Elio calling her aunty rather than calling her by her name only.
I had to do a background check on her with Daniel and Javier's help before calling her for another interview. When I offered her the job she was excited and she promised to deliver the best.
She is a happy soul. She is always in a good mood even if I scold her for doing something wrong or not according to my satisfaction. She accepts her mistakes and is always willing to listen and change. I really feel at ease when I see the way she treats my child. Maybe he reminds her of the child she left back home.
"My ma!"
Elio screams when the song is over. He is still trying to catch his breath from the dancing and laughter. Nina turns around and sees me. Elio runs towards me and tries to climb onto the chair. He always does that, tries to sit on the wheelchair with me. He thinks it's some kind of a fun ride for mummy.
"Hey Champ , I missed you my baby. Mama missed you a lot."
I lift him up and he hugs me kissing me on the mouth and on my forehead and both cheeks. Just like the way Daniel kisses me. This boy copies everything Daniel does to me. Talking of Daniel where is he?
"Hey Nina, is my husband around?"
"Pop gone, Dada gone."
Elio answers looking sad.
"Awww they left my Champ and aunt Nini?"
He nods as Nina tells me where everyone else is. Daniel and Chris have left for a business meeting, Lissa is at the country club and Javier is in his room. Elio starts reaching for my boobs and I know his nap time is approaching and he must be tired from all the dancing and jumping he's been doing. He settles down on my lap, holding onto my boobs as if someone is going to steal them. He sucks in the milk with evident happiness and contentment and soon enough he starts to fall asleep as I talk to Nina.
