"You can walk again cutie pie? I can't believe it! Nisha texted me but I thought it was her usual jokes. Oh cutie pie I am so happy!"

"I am happy too. Nisha wasn't lying. I started walking this morning and mummy and Nisha called and texted everyone. I am sure everyone will be here by next weekend."

"Oh I wish you saw how everyone was crying and heartbroken when the doctor said you had paralysis and a mental breakdown."

"Everything gets better Javi. I have learnt that no matter how painful or difficult it seems. It always gets better."

I nod and join her on the couch. She takes my hand in hers. She notices the bruised knuckles and looks up at me asking,

"Are you okay? How are you feeling? I know Daniel broke our hearts and I was angry but it was selfish of me not to check up on you."

"It's okay cutie. I understand. I am okay. Uncle Luc treated my bruises."

"Please tell me you didn't tell uncle Luc the real story."

I laugh lengthy and say,

"He would've been here by now. Your uncle is crazy you know. But I am glad both him and Katie are treating me like their own son and our business is flourishing."

"Crazier than uncle Al? I think uncle Luc is a bit calmer compared to uncle Al. I am really happy for you. Uncle Luc and aunt Katie literally adopted you by force. "

We both laugh remembering how her aunt Katie is always trying to feed me or adjusting my hair or my clothes everytime even in front of my friends. They have three daughters; two of them in highschool and one in Princeton majoring in Law studies.

I feel like I am the son that they had always wished for and a brother that Leticia, Rita and Suzanne wished for.

I break the silence wondering who lawyer hot shot is. Daniel and Y'vania always joked about it. If someone is good looking in a movie or anywhere we go they immediately compared them to lawyer hot shot. I always think it's their inside joke.

"Who is lawyer hot shot?"

"My lawyer. The one I manage to annoy every single time I get into trouble with the media. The one I have no doubts you're sleeping with."

Oh no. Is it that obvious?

It's true we are together but I didn't know he was the 'Hot Shot' that Y'vania and Daniel always joked about.

"Wait. So Jeff is the hot shot that you always talk about? Why do you call him hot shot? His name is Jeffery Watkins."

"Well, Daniel started it, he said that you and my lawyer were dating. I didn't believe that Mr Watkins was gay so I jokingly told him that he's eye candy and it's sad that he doesn't swing this side."

"You didn't know he was gay? I thought you had the sharpest eye. You literally picked boyfriends for me back in the days."

She shakes her head saying,

"Maybe my radar is wearing off. How did it happen, you and Hot Shot?"

"He is one serious guy."

"Oh tell me about it. I thought it's because I always put him in difficult situations."

She replies with a laugh.

"Oh you are a difficult client. He's the most romantic man I have ever met. He treats me with such tenderness and care that I wonder where he was all my life.
I didn't see it coming. I fell for him just like that and I think he was waiting for me to say yes for him to swoop into my life full force."
