Brownie Bae pt1

I'm busy taking out ingredients from the kitchen cabinets when Daniel comes in and gives me a peck on my cheek.
I like making dinner when I am not busy. I dismissed the house maid and the nanny early today. There is a servants quarter on the first floor of the building that's where our nanny and maid sleep. We only have two staff members around the house. The nanny who is a kind lady from Venezuela. Her name is Nina. She is so good with Elio. I never have doubts even if I stay out late. The other staff member is Alice a middle aged lady with a light Dominican accent. She is serious about her work and she's very punctual and does everything in order.

She cleans the house three times a week and the baby's room everyday. She also does everyone's laundry apart from Elio's and cooks our meals.
The nanny takes care of Elio, does his laundry and takes care of him when Javier, Daniel and I are not around which is like all the time.

My day is always fully occupied. After classes I mostly work in my home office; doing my work or finishing assignments. We share the office with Daniel or Javier sometimes and hold meetings with my publishers and editors.

I got back home earlier today. I am done with exams and baby Elio is taking a nap. He is not feeling well since yesterday and I had to take him to his doctor last night who confirmed that he's teething. He is in a bad mood today. He only wants me or Daniel. when someone else picks him up he cries. I could tell that he gave his nanny a tough time the moment I entered the house. I told the lady to take the afternoon off and get some rest.
He was crying when Daniel and I got back home and Nina was pacing up and down the main entrance trying to rock him without succeeding. When Daniel took him he went quiet all of a sudden. Javier tried to take him and he screamed loudly then went quiet when Daniel took him back.
After nursing him Daniel took him again and rocked him to sleep but he only wanted to sleep in Daniel's arms, not anywhere else.

"I managed to calm him down and put him to sleep in his crib. I'm going out with Tessa. Don't count me on whatever you're preparing. I'll eat out."

I poke his tummy playfully and say,

"Good job daddy. Mummy and baby Elio love you."

He smiles and hugs me from behind whispering into my ear,

" I love both of you too. I'm going out with Tessa."

I turn around and ask,

"Are you going to make it official or you're still waiting for your wife to get old?"
"Don't tell me you're jealous wifey besides, your prince charming might or might not be on his way or already in LA."
"I must be jealous of my husband. Make sure no one sees you on that date and what do you mean? Who is my prince charming?"
"Anthony you moron I didn't know you're a dimwit outside the book world."

I punch his hard tummy and end up hurting my dear knuckles. I scowl and go on with my work.

"What? So you don't want to see him? Don't you miss him? You still love him don't you?"

"I don't. What is he coming to do and who told him I stay here?"

"Many questions. Way too many questions wifey but seriously you guys need to talk stuff out."

Daniel says turning to leave but I grab his wrist fast enough and stare at him intensely.

I know he isn't joking about Anthony coming but the thing is: How is my mother  going to react when she sees him and how are they going to survive a minute under the same roof?

"Daniel are you serious? Anthony is coming, my mum is coming. Don't you see the problem there? Why didn't he at least give me a call? All this time I've been waiting for his call, text or even an email but he went all quiet. I thought he hated me. Do you think he's ever going to forgive me for what happened? Is -"
