By the time Matheus and Briar finally came downstairs, his three best friends were already acting like they owned the villa.
Rafael sat comfortably at the kitchen island eating strawberries directly from the container.
Lucas was making coffee.
And Flavio?
The traitor was frying bacon like he lived there permanently.
Honestly, Matheus regretted giving them spare keys.
The moment Rafael noticed them entering the kitchen together, his grin immediately widened dangerously.
"Well, well, well..."
His eyes shamelessly traveled toward Matheus and Briar.
"The newlyweds survived."
Briar instantly turned pink.
Meanwhile Matheus calmly wrapped one arm around his wife's waist before replying casually,
"Barely."
Rafael clutched his chest dramatically.
"Too much information."
"Coming from you?" Lucas scoffed while placing coffee mugs on the counter. "Impossible."
Flavio turned around holding a spatula.
"Morning, Briar."
Then he looked toward Matheus suspiciously.
"You actually let her walk downstairs today. Respect."
Briar nearly choked on air while Matheus burst into laughter.
"These are your friends?" Briar whispered in disbelief.
"Unfortunately," Matheus replied calmly.
Then he kissed the top of her head casually before helping her sit down beside the counter.
And instantly—
all three men froze dramatically.
Rafael pointed accusingly.
"There!"
"What?" Matheus asked innocently.
"That husband behavior," Lucas supplied.
"You're being sweet naturally now."
Flavio nodded seriously.
"It's horrifying."
Matheus rolled his eyes while Briar quietly laughed beside him.
Honestly?
He didn't care anymore.
Yes, he had changed.
Because of Briar.
And surprisingly—
he liked this version of himself better.
Rafael eventually leaned dramatically against the counter while staring at Briar seriously.
"So..."
Briar immediately looked suspicious.
"So what?"
"How was our friend as a husband?"
"Rafael," Matheus warned dangerously.
But unfortunately—
his wife was already laughing.
"I think he's doing okay so far."
"Only okay?" Matheus asked in fake offense.
