Briar
Three days after their wedding, Briar finally realized something important.
Marriage to Matheus Carvalho was dangerous.
Not because he was difficult.
Not because he was controlling.
But because the man was naturally affectionate twenty-four hours a day.
And honestly?
Her poor heart couldn't survive it properly anymore.
He kissed her randomly.
Held her hand constantly.
Pulled her into his lap whenever possible.
And worst of all—
he loved whispering the word wife near her ear like it personally entertained him seeing her blush.
Which unfortunately worked every single time.
Currently, Briar stood inside the kitchen of the villa trying to prepare coffee peacefully.
Trying.
Because her husband was once again attached behind her like a giant affectionate shadow.
"Matheus..."
She tried sounding serious.
"Hmmm?"
His lips brushed slowly against her shoulder again.
Good Lord.
"This is exactly what I'm talking about."
"What?" he asked innocently while wrapping both arms tighter around her waist.
"You're distracting me."
Matheus immediately smiled against her skin.
"That's because you're distractingly beautiful."
Briar closed her eyes dramatically.
Honestly?
How did women survive men like this?
Before she could answer him, footsteps suddenly echoed loudly from outside.
Then—
without warning—
the villa door burst open dramatically.
"GOOD MORNING NEWLYWEDS!"
Rafael again.
Of course.
Briar jumped slightly while Matheus groaned in frustration behind her.
"Why do you people keep entering my house like criminals?"
Lucas entered behind Rafael carrying grocery bags.
"Because you stupidly gave us keys."
"And because Briar likes us better," Flavio added casually while entering too.
"Correct," Olga announced proudly from behind them.
Briar blinked.
Then immediately smiled brightly.
"Olga!"
Her friend rushed toward her instantly.
Meanwhile Matheus narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
"Why are YOU here with these idiots?"
Olga looked personally offended.
"Excuse me. I'm friends with your wife."
