"MATHEUS CARVALHO, STOP PACING!"
Rafael's voice echoed loudly across the hospital waiting area.
But honestly?
Matheus couldn't stop.
Because at this exact moment, Briar was inside the delivery room.
In labor.
In pain.
Bringing their child into the world.
And meanwhile—
he was outside slowly losing his mind.
"I'm calm," Matheus lied terribly while pacing again.
"You look like you're preparing for war," Lucas commented dryly from his seat.
"He's been pacing for forty minutes," Flavio added.
"And praying," Rafael supplied dramatically. "A lot."
Matheus ignored all three of them.
Mostly because they were right.
He had never felt this terrified in his life.
Not during billion-dollar negotiations.
Not during business failures.
Not even during accidents.
Nothing compared to this helpless fear.
Because Briar was hurting.
And he couldn't do anything except wait.
He hated waiting.
Nearby, both their families occupied almost the entire waiting area.
His mother continuously prayed softly while Briar's grandmother cried emotional tears every few minutes.
Olga and Jenny tried calming everyone.
Though honestly?
Olga herself looked ready to panic too.
Meanwhile Laly repeatedly told Rafael to stop making stupid jokes before she murdered him personally.
The entire place was emotional chaos.
Then suddenly—
a loud scream echoed faintly from inside the delivery room.
Matheus froze completely.
That was Briar.
His entire body immediately tensed.
And before anyone could stop him—
he marched directly toward the delivery room doors.
"Sir—" one nurse began.
"That's my wife!"
The poor nurse blinked nervously.
Thankfully, the doctor suddenly emerged before the situation escalated.
"Mr. Carvalho?"
Matheus immediately stepped forward.
"How is she?"
The doctor smiled reassuringly.
"She's doing well."
Matheus nearly collapsed from relief already.
"But," the doctor continued gently, "your wife specifically asked for you."
That was all he needed to hear.
