Matheus
They were awakened by the sound of Rafael's phone ringing loudly across the hotel suite.
All four men groaned almost simultaneously.
Rafael blindly reached for his phone from the bedside table before answering half asleep.
"Hello?"
Then his expression immediately shifted.
"Oh. Josef."
That alone woke everyone slightly.
Rafael placed the call on speaker mode so everyone could hear.
"Rafael, how's everyone?" Josef's voice asked from the other line.
Rafael stretched lazily while sitting upright on the bed.
"We're alive."
Lucas groaned dramatically from the couch.
"Barely."
Rafael laughed before continuing,
"We arrived at the hotel almost one in the morning, so we didn't bother updating you anymore."
Then he rubbed his eyes tiredly.
"Honestly, after the grand opening party at Matheus's estate last night, we were all completely exhausted."
Flavio lifted one hand weakly from his bed.
"If you didn't call, we probably would've slept until three this afternoon."
Josef laughed softly from the other side of the line.
"Well, I just wanted to check if you guys are alright."
"We're fine, Josef," Flavio assured him.
"Completely functional humans," Lucas added sarcastically.
Rafael grinned.
"Questionable statement."
Matheus shook his head while sitting up properly.
The hotel suite looked disastrous.
Blankets everywhere.
Shoes scattered across the floor.
Half-empty water bottles near the couch.
And Flavio somehow sleeping diagonally across his entire bed.
"Don't you guys want to look around Switzerland first?" Josef asked.
"We can explore after your wedding," Lucas replied immediately.
Right now?
All four of them prioritized survival.
Josef laughed again.
"Fair enough."
Then Rafael suddenly smirked mischievously.
"You're nervous, aren't you?"
That immediately triggered laughter around the room.
Even Matheus chuckled.
"Agreed," he added. "Josef definitely sounds nervous."
Josef groaned dramatically through the speaker.
"Thanks for the support, guys."
Truthfully, Josef had always been closer to Rafael compared to the rest of them.
They became friends during their senior year in high school.
Of course, Josef had his own group of close friends too.
