Matheus POV

While resting on the couch where Aurora had been sitting earlier, Matheus replayed the events of the afternoon in his mind.

A slow smile formed on his lips.

The image of her sprawled awkwardly on the floor kept replaying vividly in his head.

Embarrassed.

Flustered.

Beautiful.

Very beautiful.

And somehow, that combination had affected him more than it should have.

He had met countless stunning women throughout his life. Models. Socialites. Influencers. Women who spent hours perfecting every detail of their appearance just to catch his attention.

Yet Aurora—

without makeup, wearing simple clothes, and looking completely mortified—

managed to capture his attention effortlessly.

That alone was dangerous.

Matheus leaned his head back against the couch and exhaled slowly.

He barely even noticed when she left earlier.

One second, she was standing near the door saying goodbye, and the next, she was gone.

"Goodbye, Mr. Carvalho."

The soft sound of her voice still lingered in his ears.

When he carried her earlier, he couldn't help but notice her figure.

Slim waist.

Curvy hips.

Long, shapely legs.

Everything about her looked soft and feminine.

Definitely not what he expected from a housekeeper.

Honestly, his first assumption had been that she was the agency owner's daughter or perhaps the secretary from Shine Bright Housekeeping.

But she introduced herself as Aurora.

And she claimed she was the housekeeper assigned to his estate.

Tomorrow, he would confirm that for himself.

Because something about her story didn't quite add up.

After sitting quietly for several minutes, Matheus finally decided to take a swim.

That usually helped clear his mind after stressful business meetings.

Unfortunately, tonight, his mind seemed determined to stay focused on one particular woman.

He stood up and headed upstairs toward his bedroom.

The master suite overlooked the ocean through wide glass windows, allowing the orange glow of the sunset to spill beautifully across the room.

He opened his wardrobe and searched for his swimming trunks.

After changing, he grabbed a large towel from the bathroom cabinet and headed downstairs toward the swimming pool.

The private pool sat at the far left side of the estate, surrounded by neatly trimmed hedges and tropical plants.

The evening breeze carried the scent of saltwater from the ocean below.

Matheus tossed the towel onto one of the lounge chairs before testing the water with his foot.

Cold.

Perfect.
