Matheus

They arrived in the city after thirty minutes.

Normally, the drive from the estate to Santa Catarina would take at least forty minutes to an hour.

But today?

Matheus drove faster than usual.

Much faster.

And unfortunately, his friends noticed.

"You're speeding because of a woman," Rafael announced dramatically from the backseat.

Matheus didn't even glance at him.

"I'm speeding because you talk too much."

Lucas laughed.

"Interesting. He didn't deny the woman part."

Flavio leaned forward between the seats.

"Our billionaire friend is suffering."

"I am not suffering."

"You're obsessed."

"I'm curious."

"That's worse," Rafael replied proudly.

Matheus tightened his grip on the steering wheel while the others continued laughing like idiots.

Honestly, he was beginning to regret inviting them.

When they finally arrived in the city, Matheus parked the pickup truck in the customer parking area outside Shine Bright Housekeeping.

The four men climbed out and headed toward the building together.

The OPEN sign hanging on the glass door immediately caught Matheus's attention.

Good.

Maybe Mrs. Ferreira had finally returned.

Without hesitation, he pushed the door open and entered.

His friends followed behind him, though they immediately settled onto the waiting benches near the reception area.

"Hello! How may I help you?"

Matheus recognized the cheerful voice instantly.

Olga.

The receptionist looked up from the counter before smiling in recognition.

"Oh! Mr. Carvalho."

So she remembered him, too.

"Olga, right?" he asked politely.

"Yes."

He nodded.

"Is Mrs. Ferreira here already?"

Olga's smile faded slightly.

"Not yet, unfortunately."

Matheus frowned lightly.

"She still hasn't returned?"

Olga shook her head.

"I think something important came up. We haven't received an exact schedule from her yet."

Matheus exhaled quietly.

Disappointing.

"When do you think she'll return?" he asked.

"I honestly can't say," Olga admitted apologetically. "Some other clients have been asking for her, too."

Matheus rested one hand against the counter thoughtfully.

He technically could just call Mrs. Ferreira directly.
