Lily is lying on Atlas's bed, resting her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. She's mulling over what she overheard Jaxon and Caspian discussing.

Caspian enters the room with a nurse, who has bag of blueblood with her, she removes the old bag and hangs the new bag on the IV hook and inserts it into his port.

"Luna Lily, I need to discuss something very important with you" says Caspian. Lily braces herself, she knows what he will ask her, and she doesn't know if she can answer. She gives a slight nod to Caspian, allowing him to continue speaking.

"Beta Jaxon is pushing for a withdrawal of medical care for Alpha Atlas, to allow for a natural death. We are facing a dilemma, if we continue our current course of treatment, Alpha Knight will die. He has handed all authority over to you, he has made it clear he is willing to die for Alpha Atlas if that is your wish. However, you need to be aware that if Alpha Knight dies, and we can't find Alpha Knox in time, then both Alpha Atlas and your infant daughter will most likely die too"

"Where is Alpha Knox? Why can't we find him?" pleads Lily

"I think it's best if you speak with Beta Jaxon on that matter, but from my understanding both Alpha Knox and Alpha Roberts are fully MIA. It is believed that they have gone deep into the wilderness and have possibly turned feral, with Alpha Knox hunting Alpha Roberts. They have despatched their best trackers to find them, but so far, they can't find any trace of them. It doesn't help that weather conditions have been bad with heavy storms, washing away all their tracks and scents"

"What about Xavier, could he possible donate blood?" Lily cringes as she says it, she doesn't like the idea of her three and half year-old being forced to give blood, but she's desperate.

"Unfortunately, Xavier is only a small child, he is far too small to supply enough blood for Alpha Atlas. We don't recommend blood donations until you are at least sixteen years old and weigh at least fifty kilograms. As for donating to his infant sister, even if he was eligible, I would not advise it"

"Why not?"

"Blueblood transfusions to an infant create a blood oath bond. She has already formed a bond with Alpha Knight. If we were to create a second bond with Xavier, her tiny body may not be able to handle both bonds. It could cause more damage than good" Caspian sighs and looks at Lily with sympathy "I have to advise you, that it is my professional opinion that we start withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment to Alpha Atlas, and prepare for a passive euthanasia or natural death"

Lily looks down at Atlas, tears begin streaming down her cheeks "you don't know what you're asking me...I can't lose him...he's my mate!" she sobs out.

Caspian comes over and rests his hand on Lily's shoulder "I know this is a very hard decision for you. I will leave you alone with Atlas for now to think it over. I'll go attend to Alpha Knight and your daughter and come back to check on you later. By the way...do you have a name for the baby? We need to put it on her birth certificate. Also, we can't just keep calling her 'the baby'?"

Lily shakes her head "no...not yet...we thought we still had three months to go. I don't want to choose a name without Atlas's input" once again her face crumples, and tears fall.

"It's okay, please don't cry, we can hold off on the birth certificate for now. Take your time choosing a name" says Caspian as he gives his cousin's shoulder a final squeeze in support, before turning and exiting the room.

Lily is emotionally spent, overwhelmed and exhausted. She lies back down next to Atlas and nuzzles his neck "Atlas I don't know what to do? Goddess, please help me" she whispers, as exhaustion takes over and her eyes slowly close, drifting off to sleep, while clinging to her mate.
