Chapter 81 - Too Fast

Looking around the expansive VIP suite, Lily is speechless. The Mystic Fall's VIP suite has been transformed into a 5-star medical room, catering to anything baby AJ or Lily might need. The nurses are fussing over the medical equipment, that his been setup next to the nursery area of the suite. There is a state-of-the-art brand-new baby crib equipped with all sorts of cameras and monitors.

Xavier squeals and releases her hand, as he rushes over to the toy area of the room. There is climbing wall, that Xavier instantly scales like a pro, and jumps off into a foam pit. He scrambles out of the foam pit, and throws open a full-size replica pirate's treasure chest, that is packed with toys for him. Lily looks down at AJ, who is cradled in her arms, snuggly wrapped in a beautiful hand crocheted blanked that was gifted to her "looks like we're not in Pine Lake anymore" she says whispering to her newborn daughter. A pang of pain shoots through Lily's heart. This all so overwhelming. She thinks of her little cottage by the lake, and the handcrafted crib Uncle bob made for her when Xavier was born. They didn't have all these luxuries at Pine Lake, but everything they had was cherished and loved. Her thoughts drift to Atlas. They should be bringing home their baby girl together, to their lakeside cottage and settling her into the handcrafted crib made with love.

Dr Kent approaches her, after inspecting all the equipment "Luna Lily, everything is in working order. As instructed by Alpha Knight, we have installed several call buttons, one by your bed, one next to AJ's crib, and one in the bathroom. Just press the call button if you require anything or there is an emergency"

"Is it safe to leave the clinic so soon?" Lily says glancing down at baby AJ

"Yes AJ is stable now, we've even dropped her blood transfusions to every second day, if her recovery keeps going steady, she'll soon only need a weekly transfusion. As long as you keep breast feeding her, and caring for her as you have been, everything should go fine. Not to mention, we have a medical team on standby if required. The clinic is only just a short walk from the pack house" Lily nods at his words and tries to steady her nerves. Everything will be fine she tells herself, trying to reassure herself, even though she feels like a fish out of water. She moves towards the very expensive looking Scandinavian designer baby crib, and places AJ down. The nurses give her a brief overview of how to work the baby monitors and the emergency call button, before leaving.

As the medical team exit the suite, Caden walks in. He looks nervously at Lily "is everything to your liking?" he tentatively asks.

"It's incredible...but it's not what we're used to. We lived simply at Pine Lake" Lily says, glancing over to the queen-sized bed, complete with expensive looking sheets, comforters, pillows and cushions "so...err...where will you be sleeping?" she asks. She's not ready to be sleeping next to Caden yet, she doesn't know if she'll ever be ready.

"I'm just down the hall in the Alpha suite. This entire floor belongs to us exclusively. No one is permitted up here without our permission, and I've stationed extra guards at the suites entrance" Caden says with confidence, he is clearly taking no chances with his family's security "would you like me to give you a tour of this level?"

Just then Xavier runs over to them, and grabs Caden's hand "yes Papa Alpha, I want to see your room!"

Lily glances over at AJ sleeping "you go with Xavier, I'll stay here and watch AJ"

Caden strides over to the crib area and grabs one of the tablets sitting next to the monitors. He turns it on, and hands it to Lily, she can see AJ sleeping on the monitor "we can watch her and hear her through this. We won't leave this level, we'll be able to reach her if she wakes up, it's perfectly safe" Caden then pulls out a cell phone from his pocket, he turns on an app and shows Lily, the image on his phone, it is the same as the tablet "we can even monitor her on our mobile phones".
