Chapter 75 - Coma

Beta Jaxon bows down, and takes Lily's hand, lifting her hand to his lips for a gentlemanly kiss, as is customary when a high-ranking wolf greets a luna "my luna, what an honour it is to finally meet you".

Lina runs past them and throws herself into Josh's waiting arms. Jaxon and Lina have arrived at Redwood Pack. The Beta has been assigned to escort the two Lunas', Sophie and Lily, back to Mystic Falls.

Josh passionately kisses Lina "have you recovered my darling?"

"Yes...I'm feeling much better now, but am I too late, have you already cremated Trevor?"

"We have kept him in the morgue, but we need to do the funeral tonight. Trevor's family are arriving today. We will send our mate back to the moon together" says Josh as he wipes a tear from Lina's eye "I would like to introduce you to a very special friend of mine" he says as he turns Lina to face Lily "Lily, may I introduce you to my mate Lina? I've wanted the two of you to meet for so long now"

Lina bows down to Lily "Luna Lily, what an honour to meet you, Josh has told me so many stories about you, that I feel I know you already". Lily drops protocol and wraps her arm around Lina, giving her a heartfelt hug.

"I feel the same way. I can't tell you how happy I was to find out that Josh had found his fated mate. You have been blessed with an amazing mate, I can't think of any male more deserving than Josh. I'm so sorry for the loss of your other mate, Trevor. But don't lose hope Lina, I'm sure you'll find a way to conceive a pup, I have no doubt you'll be a mother one day"

"Do you really think so?" tears begin running down Lina's cheeks

"Yes, I do. I've instructed Josh to visit my Beta Jin to help advise you. He has a lot of expertise in this area. I'm sure he'll find a way to help you" Lily wipes Lina's tears from her cheeks "now you have a lot to do to prepare for Trevor's funeral, and I have to get to Mystic Falls urgently to tend to my pup and mate"

"Yes, we need to get going urgently. Josh, you have been granted temporary Alpha status, you are to oversee the security needs of both Redwood and Pine Lake packs, until Alpha Knox returns" instructs Beta Jaxon

"Yes sir, it will be my honour to serve as Alpha" replies Josh with a slight bow to his Beta

"Lunas', please we need to leave urgently" states Jaxon, as he guides them to his waiting vehicle.

"I'm not coming" replies Sophie

"What do you mean you're not coming?! Don't you want to see Caspian?!" replies Lily in shock.

"I want to meet my son more than anything in this world, but I took an oath with Knox, one I cannot break. He made me promise not to leave Redwood pack territory until he returns. In return he made me a solemn vow that he would get Caspian back to me alive and bring Jacob to justice. He has already delivered me Caspian, and now he is going after Jacob. I cannot break my vow to him now" states Sophie firmly, she pulls her niece is for hug "go now to your pup and your mates, I will join you as soon as I can".

"Mama, mama!" squeals Xavier as he rushes towards his mother, as she exits the car, Christie is following closely behind him. Lily crouches down low and takes Xavier in her arms, and holds him tightly, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Oh, my beautiful boy, I missed you so much! Are you hurt, are you okay?" Lily pulls back to examine Xavier, trying to see if he has been injured in any way.

"I'm okay mama, but Pappa is still asleep. And the big Alpha too, he can't move".

Jaxon and Christie dart an anxious look at each other. Jaxon purposely didn't tell Lily the full extent of Atlas and Caden's injuries. He is acutely aware of her being six months pregnant, and he did not want to stress her, for fear of her going into premature labour.
