Harry's POV

Mia started to stir a little in my arms, she was still asleep, but the nurses had warned me once she started to move around, she would slowly wake herself up for her feed. I paged the nurse, thinking by the time she got the bottle ready, she would be awake.

"Mr Styles, is she ready for her first feed? We were hoping miss Taylor would be out of recovery by now, to get Mia straight onto the breast milk," the nurse had come right over.

"I don't think she's going to be up for feeding after the day she's had, can't we deal with this tomorrow? I mean, is it unhealthy to switch from bottle to breast or something?" I had no idea of any of this, I didn't want to upset her stomach or anything, she was only a couple hours old. I didn't want to hurt her the minute I was left with her.

"No, nothing like that, we just like the baby to be familiar with the mum during feeding right away, avoiding bottle feed if breast milk is the option you have decided for her. Have you and your partner discussed this?"

We spoke briefly about it, she didn't know how she felt about breast feeding, but I wanted her to try it out at least once before deciding anything.

"Erm, not really, we'd have to wait and see what she wants to do."

"That's fine, I'll get you a bottle made, did you have any clothing for her? Or we can provide you with a jumpsuit and beanie if not..."

Jen's labour happened so unexpectedly, we hadn't even packed our hospital bag yet, meaning I had no clothes ready for Mia. I'd have to do that all tomorrow by myself at some point.

"It's all at home, we were in a bit of a rush, and I haven't had a chance to pop home again," I looked down at my little girl, smiling at how how grateful I was to finally be able to hold her.

"Not a problem, I'll bring everything over you'll need now," she smiled and left the room.

She returned a few minutes later with a bottle, jumpsuit, beanie, some diapers, and other necessities to get us through the night. I was hoping Jen would be back soon, I hated that she was missing even a minute of any of this.

"I'll get you to feed her first, then I'll teach you how to get rid of her wind, then we'll change and dress her."

"Any idea when my girlfriend will be here?" I asked, getting anxious as to why her recovery was taking so long.

"I had a chat to the doctor, she is awake, they're just giving her a final check before bringing her in," she informed me, and I was relieved to hear she was finally awake.

The nurse showed me how to hold Mia to feed her, and how to position the bottle. She still hadn't opened her eyes, I was surprised she hasn't cried once while with me, but the nurse insisted we feed since she was awake, just hadn't opened her eyelids yet.

As soon as I placed the bottle in her mouth, she had latched on, and began to feed off it.

"I'm doing it," I smiled at my first task as a dad.

"You are, first bottle of thousands to go, I'll leave you to it for the time being," she left me again.

Mia opened her eyes, looking around the room at the big world she was now apart of. This little girl was now my number one purpose in life, and I would do whatever I had to to keep her safe and sound.

"Harry..." my favourite voice called from the door way. I looked to her, a nurse had wheeled her into room, I'd never been more happy to see a face in my life.

"Jen!" I hopped off the bed, still feeding Mia, and walked straight over to her, bending down to kiss her.

"There's someone I want you to meet," I squatted down in front of her, letting her see Mia properly for the first time.
