Jen's POV
"Jen, your mum's here with Dr Thomas," Angus called out from down stairs. Mason had just fed Mia, and I laid her down to sleep again, while I waited for mum and Nate to arrive for my appointment.
I was nervous to talk to him, but I thought it may help me understand what was going on. Today was such an emotional roller coaster of a day already, between saying goodbye to Harry and reading Bella's letter, I didn't think I had any more tears to spare.
"She's a little unsettled today, do you think you could watch her while I talk to Nate?" I asked Mason before I left him with her.
"Yeah sure, I've had some experience with baby's, I'm sure I can handle it," he assured me before taking a seat in my chair, and getting comfortable.
I quietly left the room, and made my way down stairs to mum and Nate.
"I'm gonna go for a walk along the beach. Gemma's still not back from her shopping day with your sister and Cal, so I gotta find something to do," Angus informed me.
"Why don't you go keep Mason and Mia company? I've kind of left him up there to watch over a sleeping baby, he's probably bored out of his mind," I suggested. I really wanted them to get along, I hated the tension between them.
"I think I'll just stick with the walk," he began to walk away towards the door.
"I'm disappointed in you, Angus," I called out to him, causing him to turn around looking confused.
"What?" He scrunched up his face at me, like I had just said something completely unjustified.
"You heard me," I turned my back to him, making my way into the kitchen. Mum knew her way around the house, she had already popped the kettle on and sat Nate down at the dining table.
"Hey sweetheart, how are you?" She walked right over to me, engulfing me in one of her usual overbearing hugs.
"I'm good," I answered her honestly. I was good, better than usual anyway.
"Has Harry touched down in London yet?" She asked.
"No he wouldn't have, he's still well off that. I actually went to the airport this morning to send him off...but I'm being completely rude right now," I remembered Nate was sat at the table.
"Sorry Nate, thanks for coming on such short notice," I walked over and hugged him.
"It's fine...so Harry has gone away? That must not have been an easy decision for him to make, considering he's a new father. I hated even going to work after my first child was born, I didn't want to leave his side," he chuckled at his earlier memories.
Sometimes I forgot Nate was a father himself, he looked so young, but he was around my fathers age, you'd never guess it. His eyes were a piercing blue- mum and I often gushed over him when he was over hanging out with dad.
"He didn't want to go, but it's his job and I forced him to," I shrugged.
"Why did you force him?" He asked curiously.
"This all kind of ties into what I wanted to talk to you about," I took a seat across from him, while mum brought us the teapot and mugs.
