Harry's POV
While sitting in my lounge watching whatever American sitcom was on, I was anxious for what tonight had in store for me. I wasn't sure exactly how deep Jen would be getting with this letter, if I would be learning anything new about her, or how I would feel after hearing everything she wanted me to know.
I guess I feared the unknown. I hated that nervous twist in the pit of my stomach, as a result of not knowing what I was about to walk myself into you. All I knew was this would only make us stronger, since she was letting her walls down and allowing me in.
She'd fed Mia and prepared another bottle just in case, while Willow was stepping out with her for a few hours. She was probably just off to Niall's hotel again, which was fine by me, I'd rather my daughter be in the privacy of a hotel room anyway.
"Harry, I'm ready," Jen came down the stairs towards me. She was in a short silk black robe, which I cursed her for, because how was I meant to concentrate on the letter when she was wearing that? I knew her well enough to know what would be underneath.
"Did we go shopping did we?" I looked her up and down, loving what I was seeing.
"This old thing? You like?" She spun around on the spot, giving me a view at all angles.
"You know how to drive me crazy, you've perfected that," I stood up, pulling her into me, instinctively letting my lips linger to her neck.
"Come on, we will get to that soon. See it as your reward for sitting through my rambling."
"I wouldn't call anything you say to me rambling, I enjoy every second of conversation with you. Don't belittle this, this is important for you, and it means a lot to me that you would want to read this to me. I know you can close yourself off, but you're letting me in in the most vulnerable way, and I love you for it."
I didn't want her to think I was being forced to sit through this, and I'd be rewarded with a treat once it was done. I took this very seriously, and I hoped she knew that. It's not as if I would be counting down the seconds for it to end, just to get in her pants already.
"I'm not belittling it, I know it's important, I guess I'm just nervous."
"You needn't be, you can tell me anything, you know that...don't you?"
"Yeah...let's go," she pulled me along up the stairs, to our room she had covered in candles. It set a good vibe, and I knew it would help relax her.
"Are you trying to radiate as much heat as you can so these clothes come off faster?" I joked around, trying to make her more comfortable, because I knew she was nervous for this.
"Could you? I know it may seem silly, but picturing your audience naked trick always seemed to help me. I hate talking like this in front of people, it might relax me a little."
"Of course, whatever makes you feel more at ease. Are you sure you want to read this to me? You don't have to," I gave her one more chance to back out of this. I didn't want her to feel pressured.
"No I want to, I think I need to. There's nothing in this letter that I wouldn't want you to know anyway, it's just my feelings and such, and past mistakes I want to forget."
"Okay," I undressed myself down to my boxers for her, "Do you want these off too?" I pointed to them.
"Not yet," she smiled, gesturing for me to sit on the small arm chair she placed across from where she was seated, on the bed.
