Harry's POV
Christmas at home was something I'd looked forward to all year, since I started in the band. Being away majority of the year, visiting different countries was a dream for many people, but knowing I'd be getting back home for the holidays was comforting.
I loved that Jen had chosen we all spend this time together, in Cheshire. I wouldn't have minded if it were in Melbourne, I would have flown my family down, but she was selfless and considerate. She knew I moved my life away from familiarity for her, so she said this was her way of giving back to me in a way.
"This is a beautiful town, Harry. Have you lived here your whole life?" Lauren asked from the backseat, as I drove us all to my parents house, where we'd be staying.
"Yeah, it's got a population of just over five thousand, so less than half of where you lot grew up."
There were similar characteristics between both towns. They both took pride in historic buildings and agriculture, rather than demolishing it all and modernising. I liked that about my two home towns, that they both had that homey feeling, and nothing would change if you went away and came back after a while.
"It's nice, it's got a certain charm about it," she added.
"There's that ice cream place you took me to...do you remember that day?" Jen pointed out my favourite ice cream spot, I remembered taking her to when she first met my mum.
"I remember it...I remember it all. That was a good night," I smiled, remembering it was the first night Jen and I were intimate.
"Yeah, it was," she softly laughed. I knew she was thinking about the same thing I was.
"Was it good ice cream?" Lauren asked.
"Very good ice cream, I'd have it every night if Jen let me," I smirked, not at all talking about the ice cream.
"You did have it every night, and as often as you want it now," Jen retorted.
"I could eat that ice cream for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. So I probably don't get it as often as I want it," I teased her, knowing she'd get embarrassed.
"Shame they've put that raspberry topping over all the ice cream this week, I know you're not a fan, guess you miss out while we're here, so best you stop talking about it," I could see her glaring at me from the corner of my eye.
"Why do I feel like you guys aren't talking about actual ice cream?" Sam called from the back.
"What are they talking about?" Lauren asked her, oblivious to what just happened.
"Nothing, mum. Harry's just not getting any ice cream during this trip, if he continues," she warned me, and I couldn't help but smile to myself.
Something about winding her up was entertaining. She got embarrassed very easily, especially when it came to talking about sexual activities. The smallest hint at it made her blush, and I loved that innocence about her.
"I want to try it, if it's as good as he says it is," she commented, and I cracked up laughing. My amusement caused a slap across the arm from Jen, and a confused look from Lauren.
"We'll go there mum, we'll go with Anne for a girls day, and he can stay home."
"Why do I miss out?" I whined.
"Because you're an idiot," she scolded me quietly, turning away to look out the window.
"I don't even want to know what you two are arguing about now, I'm way too tired to even guess," Lauren shook her head at both of us, leaning her head down on Ryan, who was passed out beside her.
