[Hey, thanx for taking the time to read my budding story, I just wanted to try and clear any confusion. I started with only Amy being in first person, but along the way I began to confuse myself, so I decided to just use first person with everyone (^_^").... please don't be shy to comment and tell me what I'm doing wrong! always willing to learn from my mistakes! Enjoy ^_^]
“What they all excited about?”
I jumped at the sound of Michael’s voice, the surprise nearly knocking me off my chair. Mia turned around and looked up in shock at the rattling of the desk behind her and her mesmerizing blue eyes caught my transfixed gaze still hovering on her as I tried to save myself from sprawling on the floor.
“Wha-what are you talking about?” was the only thing that came out as I tried to shift attention away from me. Michael grinned knowingly before he nodded his head towards the door. I looked up in time to see Amy Mason and Trish Braker vanishing into the busy hallway.
“What about them?” I mumbled as I tried to sneak a peek at Mia. Her attention was on her brother, an endearing smile on her face that radiated her love for her twin. My heart clenched at the dismissal of my presence in her eyes.
Michael sighed as he looked over to his sister, “You know, Sis?”
“It seems Trish has convinced Amy to go to Laura’s party tonight.” Mia answered. She smiled as she watched her brother’s eyes light up at that bit of information and I found myself sighing in exasperation. Nobody except Mia and I knew about Michael’s small crush on the ‘running goddess’ as he liked to call her. If the other girls knew, things would become very uncomfortable for Amy, despite their admiration for her beauty and reputation.
“Clean your drool up Michael. You might stain your shirt.” I chided playfully. Mia giggled as she watched Michael turn red-faced as he took me in a strong hold. I couldn’t feel the pain as my ears drank the sweet ringing that was Mia’s voice.
“What’d you say Randy? Huh?” Michael grunted as we wrestled to the ground, my attention moving to protect myself.
“I was saying, you might want to clean up your drool or we’ll be sliding out of here!”
His grip tightened as we tumbled around on the classroom floor, laughing as we knocked unsuspecting students down like pins at a bowling alley.
“Hey guys, we’re going to be too late to get any good lunch sets.”
Mia’s sweet voice was soft but it was clear enough to reach the both of us. We each gave a final playful strike before rising from the floor and joining Mia on the way out the classroom.
There were many benefits to being close friends with the Angel twins, one of them being that crowds literally parted for us as we made our way to the front of the cafeteria. Most of the good lunch sets were taken, but as if waiting just for us, three of the most sought after sets sat waiting for us on the counter.
The lunch lady’s face brightened as Michael made his way to the front of the cue, the other girls forgetting why they were there and just watching him.
“Hey Ms Peyton, can we get the usual?” Michael asked coolly, a devilish smile planted on his face. My eyes rolled as Ms Peyton blushed a deep red at his minor attempt at seduction. Smiling shyly she retrieved the three lunch sets and handed them over to Michael.
“Sure Honey, here you go. That’ll be ten bucks.”
Michael’s smile widened as he took the lunch sets and handed her the money.
“Thanks so much, Ma’am!”
I sighed as we turned and headed towards the table where everyone else was waiting for us.
